Does anyone else get a little bit of a dopamine hit watching the rookies during camp? There’s something about that raw, unpolished energy that makes you feel like the whole season might actually be different this year. You see these guys who haven't even played a professional snap yet, and suddenly they're outperforming the veterans who have been in the league for years. It’s wild how fast the hierarchy can shift when one kid just decides he's the best person on the field.
Of course, I’ve been burned by this before. I remember back in the day, we all thought we had a generational talent coming out of a certain school, and by mid-season, he was a footnote in the depth chart. It’s easy to get swept up in the hype of a "surprising" performance during a preseason drill, but the real test is when the lights are actually on and the hits are real.
Do you guys think it's better to ride the wave of rookie momentum early on, or should we be staying skeptical until the regular season actually kicks off?
