I was thinking about this after seeing a thread about how much people are shelling out for meet-and-greets and VIP experiences lately. It feels like we’re entering this weird era where you pay a massive premium for the *chance* to interact with someone, but there is absolutely zero guarantee you’ll actually get that moment.

It’s such a huge gamble. You spend a significant chunk of your savings—money that could go toward a nice dinner or a weekend trip—and you’re essentially just praying that the person you’re there to see is in a good mood or even shows up on time. I’ve seen so many people walk away from these organized events feeling totally ripped off because the "VIP" treatment was basically just standing in a different line.

When you're doing it for yourself, it's one thing. But when parents are doing it for their kids, the stakes feel so much higher. You want that magic moment, that core memory, but instead, you just end up with a lighter wallet and a bunch of disappointed faces.

Does anyone else feel like these high-priced fan experiences are becoming more about the organizers' profit than the actual connection with the talent?
