Steve, I don't have the full picture since everything that happened before the 5G era wasn't fully documented on the boards.
That said, I don't really feel the need to weigh in on this whole situation. In my book, this forum isn't Alcatraz; everyone deserves a second chance, especially after everything we went through during 5G.

Anyone breaking the rules will face consequences, and if they just won't stop, they'll get a partial ban.
If you aren't breaking any rules but someone is giving you grief for whatever reason—just hit the ignore button.

At the end of the day, the man has already put in his five years. I honestly don't see why there needs to be anything more said about it.

Sophia Thomas7 said:There’s a logical flaw in your comparison. For the sake of argument, let’s assume partial bans are justified. If they are, there’s a reason—namely, someone caused trouble on the PDF. The mods have a responsibility to review whether a ban should be lifted, but they aren't obligated to just wipe the slate clean.

A real comparison would be someone who actually committed acts of terrorism claiming they’ve repented just so they could be allowed back into America. In this case, we aren't guessing whether someone caused issues on the PDF—we already know they did.

Jesus, do you not take this forum a little too seriously? 🤦
Comparing some guy arguing with someone on an internet forum to a terrorist is just 😵 🤦

Did you actually read that I didn't write that part first? I was just responding to a post that drew that awful parallel in the first place. Or did you just skip over what I quoted—the first paragraph of my post and all that?

You make a fair point. I was typing in a rush and ended up choosing a pretty flawed analogy for the logic of "there's a possibility someone might act, even if we don't know for sure." That’s why I leaned on such heavy-handed terms. I really missed the mark with the terrorist comparison; please accept my apologies.

But here is the reality: these issues happened five years ago. After that much time, even people who end up in prison get a second chance at redemption. Is this forum really that rigid? 🤔

I knew it wasn't me 🙂

Can someone please remove bear Medin? 🎉

jadetiger962 said:Maybe some other time, but for now, the partial ban stays in place. Honestly, it was earned, and looking at things right now, you just aren't active enough on the forum for me to reconsider or for another moderator to step in and vouch for you.

Can you explain why the partial ban stays and why it was justified all those years ago? Refresh my memory.

Thanks to ZMM, I’ve actually started reading Rekra too. I’m not exactly an active participant—after all, how is one supposed to keep up with everything?—but I felt compelled to write about how he was more than just helpful with his advice and workout recommendations. 👍

I would honestly love to see his partial removed, as I think it could really be useful for that PDF. Besides, after five years, even the worst criminals get their sins forgiven... so why shouldn't he get a pass? 😁 😉

Kudos to you, bear—the way you politely asked the moderators for a second chance after a five-year hiatus was actually quite impressive. Usually, people just come in here acting aggressive toward the mods and demanding their ban be lifted immediately. I guess it’s different this time—anyway, mods, what are you waiting for? Bear is ready to rejoin society 😁

Well, thank you! 😁

I’m just waiting for jadetiger962 to give everyone the full breakdown of why I earned this essentially permanent, partial ban.

5 years and 2 months. 🙂

jadetiger962, you’re going to have to explain to everyone why this was necessary, otherwise people might take it personally. 😉

I have to jump in here :jumps in: but unfortunately, as far as I know, the rules state that if a moderator (and just one is enough) refuses to allow a partial download from a PDF they oversee, then neither rustydrifter10 nor anyone else—except maybe Anderlon, I think 🤔—can pull off a partial download. If they try, that mod is just going to end up having a massive fallout with that user.
And honestly, that’s fine, except when you're dealing with a mod who lacks any sense of objectivity and blocks partial downloads for purely personal reasons (no, I am seriously not referring to jadetiger962; I don't know his work that well).
What I just can't wrap my head around is that categorical "no" after five years. I mean, five years... good grief, I had two kids in those five years. Seriously, five years 🙂

Five years and two months. 😬

I'm aware of the rules and I'm totally fine with them. But in my five years and two months here, I only ever got one warning, and that was just for some light teasing. Just putting that out there.

I have a solution: just replace jadetiger962. 😬

I don't find it funny. 😢

Alright, fine, it is a little funny, but we still shouldn't joke around when we're dealing with such a serious issue and actual injustice.

Bradley Sanders4 🤣

Nah, he won't need it yet since he's not in school, but he'll be set in about two years. 😁

I’m finally jumping into this discussion too—couldn't resist:
How on earth did he only get five years for that? 🤣

Does anyone know if US courts typically hand out lighter sentences for things like theft or aggravated assault? 😬

Five years... seriously... 🙏

And then, after those five (five!!) years, he just pops back up—and now everyone is debating whether to let him back in or not. Well, if nothing else, setting a new ban should be a breeze if he starts causing trouble again, right? ☕

It’s been quite a while since you earned your partial status, and looking back at the last few years, you've really proven that you can jump into discussions and contribute constructively without any major hiccups. Because of that, I’m going to go ahead and remove your partial status for now, but just keep in mind that it could be reinstated if things ever take a turn and you stop following the forum rules and our guidelines. Sound good?
