...plus a few other sites. Just installed a newer version of Adobe Flash Player and still nothing. Help me out here!

Which browser are you currently running? You might want to give Google Chrome a shot; it actually comes with Adobe Flash Player already built right in.

If you're running a newer machine, my best advice would be to ditch Opera and just go with Google Chrome instead. Here’s the link for you:

It started with Firefox dropping support for Adobe Flash Player, and honestly, Chrome is next in line. I keep getting pop-ups saying they're cutting it off soon.

HTML5 is where it's at.

I’ve been using Firefox for years, but about a year ago, things started getting glitchy. Suddenly, YouTube videos wouldn't play right, and even some simple little kids' games would just hang.
It was the exact same headache over on Opera, too. In the end, my only real fix was switching over to Google Chrome, which is something I had gone out of my way to avoid until now.🍿

I just updated Chrome, Mozilla, and Adobe... I can open pages just fine, but playback isn't working at all! I can see the video player—movies and everything—but nothing actually plays. Help me out here—I'm still running Windows XP

So, wouldn't you consider moving from Windows XP to a modern OS during the week? 🍿

It’s not an issue with Windows XP or Firefox either, because YouTube works perfectly fine on my machine 🙂

I'm working on a fix right now, but I'm honestly stuck... some videos play just fine while others won't budge at all.
It's happening with Mozilla Firefox 45.0.1 and YouTube, though everything runs perfectly in Chrome.
I've already tried reinstalling Mozilla and the Adobe Flash Player (even though it works via HTML5), but I'm out of ideas...

For example, this one isn't working

Nothing seems to work except logging out of YouTube entirely before the video will actually play. I'm honestly at a loss here...

Editor:
So, it works fine now if I'm just logged into my Gmail account, but as soon as I switch over to the specific channel linked to that address, everything breaks again.

When I'm signed into my YouTube channel, some videos load perfectly while others just refuse to play.

I’ve been running into this exact same headache lately. For the past few days, I’ve been trying to watch videos on YouTube using Firefox, but nothing seems to work properly. The black frame pops up just fine, and all the usual controls—volume, pause, play, you name it—are right there, but the actual video content just won't load. It stays stuck on that dark screen. Honestly, it’s pretty frustrating when you're just looking to unwind after a long day and technology decides not to cooperate. Just one of those things where you're left staring at a blank screen, wondering what went wrong.

And another thing... I’ve cycled through just about every browser out there, and roughly 80% of the videos I attempted to play simply refused to load! It really feels like one of those systemic glitches on their end that tends to surface whenever traffic starts spiking and more people run into the same wall.

I can't get a single video to play unless I'm actually logged in. If I log into my account, everything works fine. But the second I log out? Nothing. It’s not even an issue with buffering or a spinning wheel; it’s just a total black screen. It started out small—first one video wouldn't load, then maybe two or three, then every other one, and eventually, absolutely nothing would play. Tried it on both Mozilla and Chrome, same result. I tried logging back in and then out again, and now it seems to be working, but honestly, I’m just waiting for the hammer to drop. How long is this going to last?

Looks like it was just a YouTube thing. Everything seems to be working fine today regardless of whether you're logged in...
