A buddy of mine is picking up a new rig, so this old one is actually staying with me now.

Alright, what’s the actual use case for this PC?

How many threads like this one are we actually going to deal with? Honestly, wouldn't it be much more efficient if you all just started one massive mega-thread where you could list every single configuration from 1000 down to 10 in one go? $0.00 😁

It really isn't that simple. 😁
Prices and availability fluctuate almost daily, plus everyone has unique requirements, different payment methods, and various other factors to consider.

That’s all fair, but if anyone’s working with a specific budget—say, somewhere between $3,000 and $1333 or whatever—we could always just start a sticky thread. People could post their offers there with clearly defined terms and payment methods (like, "gaming rig for $1167 cash," for instance). Just a thought, though.

My attempt at getting everyone to agree on specific price points here didn't exactly pan out.

Most forums tend to run on one of two models: either you have dedicated threads for specific budget ranges, or everyone just starts their own individual thread based on their own needs. In the first scenario, when there's a sudden influx of users all asking for different builds within the same thread, things get messy fast—people get overlooked and it becomes a disaster. Personally, I think the second way is perfectly fine. After all, what’s the point of having a massive community forum if only a handful of threads are active and filled with nothing but clutter?

I mean, sure, it would require constant editing. But honestly, wouldn't it be incredible to have a dedicated thread similar to the ones you mentioned, where the original post just gets regularly updated with the latest Best Buy deals and budget components? We could even keep the thread locked so everything stays perfectly organized and easy to browse 😁

They might sort that out soon; I think they actually started working on something similar, but everyone just lost interest in updating.
