The first one is fantastic—honestly, it’s just a cash grab they had to make because there's simply too much money on the table to pass up! It reminds me of The Matrix and The Matrix Reloaded (and 3).

Richard Barrett53 said:It would’ve been great, but that ending? Not so much. Honestly, I felt like they threw in one twist too many.

Exactly this. That single twist was just overkill for me—though, granted, the movie was still a blast to watch. Surprisingly, I actually liked the setting even more than the first one, which caught me off guard. And the cast? Top tier. If they hadn't fumbled the landing at the end, I probably would've ranked it higher than the original.

Great social commentary, too. In my opinion, it actually lands better than something like The Menu, which I personally expected way more from.

It didn't really hit the same way the first one did. Not quite my cup of tea. But honestly? I wouldn't complain if they just turned Benoit Blanc into a whole franchise—something like Hercule Poirot or Columbo. Just some easy watching for a lazy Sunday afternoon.

While it manages to be watchable in some small way, I found that it falls short in every single department compared to the original film. To be perfectly honest, it was a bit of a struggle to sit through.

It’s definitely a step down from the first one...
I guess the original had the upper hand because the setting and the setup were just perfect for building that classic murder mystery vibe, whereas Glass Onion feels more like a social commentary about how money can basically rot your soul...

The characters were great, and the cast was stellar too, but the plot felt a bit over the top toward the end... plus, that whole bit with the Mona Lisa felt kind of underwhelming given how much hype was built up leading up to it. Honestly, there's surprisingly little in the movie that actually focuses on the murder itself or the investigation; the first death—which was just a side character anyway—doesn't even happen until halfway through, and the reveal regarding the main crime feels a little clunky and rushed... ☕
Also, while I get why everyone is raving about the production design and how visually stunning everything looks, I personally felt like it distracted me from the actual story. It looked less like a gritty detective mystery and more like something straight out of a Too Hot to Handle reality show 🤷

All in all, I really loved the first film and I think I gave it a solid 9/10 on IMDb, so by my own logic, this one would probably land at a decent 7/10 😉

That being said, I totally agree that I wouldn't mind seeing this turn into a proper film series, though...

I haven't actually seen the first one—tried once, but I ended up passing out—so I can't really compare them. This one started off great, but around the hour or hour-and-a-half mark, things felt pretty dragged out. That ending where they wreck the house? Total overkill. Even the plot twist was a bit much; it wasn't hard to guess the culprit, and the whole explanation felt kind of meh.

Half the cast is just uninspired and lacks charisma, but the other half is top-tier—really glad to see Edward Norton back on screen.

The Cameo appearances are spot on—Hugh Grant was great 🙏
I didn't even recognize Ethan Hawko 🙏
Then there's Angela Lansbury, which is her final film. My only gripe is they didn't have her play Jessica Fletcher—it would’ve been the perfect little nod if they’d thrown in a few more TV detectives like Monko or The Mentalist 🙂

Overall, it's a decent watch 6/10
