It feels like I’m reading my own life story laid out on the screen. I started this journey back on March 1st—and if it provides any solace to anyone else struggling, I’ve managed to drop 10 pounds so far. I’ve been on the full dose since April 15th, relying entirely on sheer willpower and nothing else. That sensation of being truly full just isn't there, though I have a nagging suspicion that without the help of Wegovy, I would have certainly eaten much more than I did.
Wishing us all the best of luck on this path!

That is spot on. I’ve had the exact same experience. It feels like everyone else is having a "better" time with it than I am—meaning, I actually still feel hunger and everything. Plus, the side effects have been minimal.

I managed to drop about 40 pounds since late January, but things have slowed down significantly from Easter until now. My own fitness has slipped too; work has picked up and I have way less free time. Finding any time for exercise is a struggle right now. It'll get better, though. Heh.

It honestly surprises me that almost no one mentions the cost. The price tag is infuriatingly high.

Good luck with the rest of the journey!

It costs me $145, and the real issue is that it's nearly impossible to find in stock. Regarding exercise or working out, I think they suggest it just to maintain muscle tone and prevent skin from sagging, given how much weight someone can lose in such a short window.
I'm not big on organized sports, but I bike to work and try to stay active however I can. How many more pounds are you aiming to lose?

As for working out or hitting the gym, I think people suggest it so you can keep your muscle tone up and prevent that "loose skin" look, since losing weight so fast can be such a huge shock to the system.
I'm not really a big sports person myself, but I bike to work every single day and try to walk everywhere I possibly can. How many more pounds are you aiming to drop?

Oh, I totally get that—all that talk about exercising is just to keep things steady, no stress! I used to be super active all the time, but life just got crazy busy lately. Same here though, I try to walk whenever I can, but let's be real, it's not quite enough. Once things settle down at my job, I'm definitely going to start pushing myself harder. 🙂

I've got a massive mountain to climb, though—trying to shed dozens of pounds by the end of January before my check-up. We'll see how it goes!

Good luck with everything!

Best of luck moving forward.

You can do this. 😉 You have plenty of time, and you've already taken that crucial first step.

Megan Anderson5 said:Hi everyone,

Just thought I'd share—I started on Wegovy last week. My endocrinologist prescribed it for me.
I’m dealing with insulin resistance and a very high BMI.

Along with the Wegovy, I'm taking Glucophage (metformin), which is mainly to regulate insulin and help with PCOS.

First off, let me be clear: these medications aren't magic. You still have to watch your diet and stay active.

My first week didn't see massive changes. My appetite stayed more or less the same; nothing really shifted there. I lost about 3 pounds over the 7 days.
As of yesterday, I moved up to a double dose of both Wegovy and Glucophage, so we'll see if that makes a difference regarding my appetite.

Regarding side effects, nothing too intense. On the second and third days after starting, I had some intermittent nausea, even during the night. I also dealt with diarrhea a few times and some light dizziness. To me, those aren't dealbreakers, but I am curious if they get worse as the dosage increases.

As for the injections, when I do them in my abdomen, I barely feel anything. It stings a little bit in my leg, though.

Wegovy costs around $135 per pack. Plus, you have to buy the needles yourself. The whole setup looks just like an insulin pen; even the needles are identical.
The first pack (3 pens) should last about 5 weeks, but once you reach the maximum dose, one pack only lasts about 18 days.
In my opinion, it's way too expensive. Hardly anyone can actually afford this.

Anyway, that's my update. If anyone is interested, I can check back in with an update in a week or two. Or feel free to ask questions.

Yes, please do keep us posted! I'm on my first 1.2mg dose today. No side effects yet and no major changes visible, but we'll see how it goes...

Every journey starts with a single step, so honestly, just deciding to take control, doing your research, and finally starting the medication is already a massive win! You’re definitely in those early stages, but hang in there. Just keep pushing forward, stay consistent, and pack plenty of patience—you've got this!

Third day on the 1.2 dose. I attended a business lunch today, and managed to stick to a small portion: about half a palm-sized piece of meat, two croutons, and three tablespoons of salad. This is exactly how I believe the medication is supposed to function—you feel the hunger pangs, but you reach satiety almost immediately.

I had some bloodwork done at the Quest Diagnostics lab over a month ago, and I still haven't seen any results pop up in my MyChart portal. I’m really hoping they’re ready by the time my follow-up appointment rolls around in three weeks. :-) I’m getting a little anxious, but honestly, what can you do?

Wait, don't you have a way to reach out and ask them directly? Honestly, if I were in your shoes, I'd probably give them a ring right away! Or, you know, just hit up your own primary care doctor to get a professional opinion on the whole thing.

Yeah, I'll shoot over an email, but there's no huge rush since we have plenty of time before the checkup...

Hey! Yeah, I totally did that. Honestly, I don't even know where to start because it was such a journey! I didn't actually go back down to the 0.6 level, though—I started back at 1.2 and just kept bumping it up every few days whenever I felt like my body could handle a little more. Now I'm sitting pretty at 3.0! I didn't really deal with any crazy side effects this time around, which was a huge relief. I ended up taking about a three-week break in between.

How long of a break are you planning on taking?

I started today, and I’m planning to stick with it for about nine days. How does it actually feel—do you find yourself getting full almost instantly? Did you struggle to stay on a lower dose, or was it manageable? Personally, I’ve come to realize that staying at my 3.0 mg after two months is just spinning my wheels; I’m basically just hovering around a one-pound fluctuation while watching my money disappear into thin air.
I think I'll give this a shot.

Honestly, my whole game plan was just to stick with a lower dose. I mean, whatever, but I just had this nagging gut feeling that I shouldn't be messing around with Wegovy at all.

Who knows, though? Maybe your experience is going to be totally different! You definitely have to let me know how it goes for you.

And did you struggle to stay on a lower dose? I’ve honestly realized that sticking to my 3.0 isn't doing much for me after two months; I'm just spinning my wheels around one pound up or down, and it feels like I'm just throwing money down the drain.

So, I'm giving this a shot now.

Oh man, I totally feel you on that.

My whole strategy was to try and hang onto a smaller dose for as long as possible. Honestly, any lower dose would have worked, but I just had this nagging gut feeling that I shouldn't even be touching Wegovy at all. It might have just been in my head, but I swear I feel the absolute best when I'm on the 3.0.

Who knows, though! Maybe your experience will be totally different. You definitely have to let me know how it goes for you!

It seems like there’s a bit of a debate here regarding dosage versus the actual return on investment. I read about a woman who tried to "save money" by sticking to a lower dose when she hit a plateau, but she saw zero progress for weeks—just weight fluctuating up and down. Eventually, she realized she was just throwing money away without seeing any results, so she bumped up the dose, and that’s when things finally started moving.

It definitely isn't cheap, but there’s really no point in struggling and wasting doses if you aren't actually hitting your goals.

Personally, I’m mentally preparing myself to stop looking at the price tag altogether. My mindset is basically, "if I do this, I'm just going to ignore the cost." Real healthcare costs way more in the long run. Honestly, I’d rather skip a summer vacation or something similar; I see more value in investing in something that yields lasting results than spending it on temporary fun.

I think the tricky part will be when it's time to taper off Ozempic, but we can worry about that later. I haven't even started yet, but I'm doing the mental groundwork now.

p.s.
I’ve gone through my specialist reports and all my other medical records with a fine-tooth comb 😉 but found nothing. My doctor did emphasize that "this process takes a long time for most people," which he made very clear, but I'm planning to give him a nudge once my next appointment gets closer.
