I’m stuck waiting until mid-July to see my endocrinologist :-( but I’m not backing down! I’ll get my hands on these meds one way or another!

Reading people say they can't even hit 1,000–1,300 calories feels like a movie plot to me—honestly, I hit that number easily and still find myself going back for seconds several times over. If my doctor refuses to prescribe this, I’m just going to head to a private clinic that was already willing to write the script without making me jump through hoops (if anyone's interested, I can pass along the contact info).

Reading about people struggling to stay under 1,000 or 1,300 calories feels like watching a movie—it's totally unreal to me because I can smash through that amount without even breaking a sweat, and then I'm basically ready for seconds! Honestly, if my doctor plays hardball and refuses to prescribe the medication, I’m just going to head over to a private clinic that offered me a prescription without any hoops to jump through (if anyone wants the info, let me know).

Hang in there, it'll happen soon, you just gotta stay patient. My first follow-up with my specialist isn't even available until January lol

As far as calories go, you should really give it a shot. We all trick ourselves into thinking we can't handle more than we actually can. Maybe try aiming for 1,800 at first just to see how your body reacts? You still need to keep an eye on everything regardless of whether you're on Wegovy.

Look, you can't make bread without getting your hands dirty first! :-) I just need to get that momentum going! :-)

I go through these crazy cycles where I’ll hit this massive hunger spike and just can't stop eating, but then there are phases where I barely eat anything at all and still struggle to lose weight. Honestly, I can't find any logical explanation for it. No underlying health issues, no diabetes, and apparently no insulin resistance either—I actually crushed my fitness assessment despite being overweight. At this point, the only conclusion I can draw is that this stubborn fat is hanging onto me for purely psychological reasons. :-) We're in a committed relationship, really. He sticks to me, and I stick to him... damn it! :-) Until we reach a formal agreement to part ways, this fat is staying put and I'm stuck with it. :-)

Just talking nonsense here. I have way too much downtime during this long weekend. :-) I started feeling this sudden rush of euphoria, even though I haven't touched a single sugary snack. I have no idea why; there isn't even a specific reason to be this happy. :-)

So, does anyone actually buy into that alternative stuff?

Energy can't be destroyed, it just changes form. So, technically, this fat just needs to change its shape, right? Hahahaha!

I honestly have no explanation for it; there’s zero logic involved. No underlying illnesses, no diabetes, and apparently no insulin resistance either. I even scored above average on a fitness assessment recently, despite being overweight. At this point, my only conclusion is that this fat isn't leaving me for some alternative psychological reason. :-) We're in a committed relationship—it sticks to me, and I stick to it. :-) And damn it... :-) Until we reach a formal agreement to part ways, the fat is staying put, and I'm staying right here with it. :-)

I'm just talking nonsense. I have far too much downtime over this long holiday weekend. :-) I started feeling this sudden wave of euphoria, even though I haven't eaten anything sweet. I don't know why; there isn't any particular reason to be happy. Not really. :-)

Energy isn't lost, it just changes form. So, theoretically, this fat just needs to change shape, hahaha.

What are your leptin levels? Are you following a specific diet plan?

Amy Kim25 said:Well, look—it’s clear you had a rough time with it, but don't let one bad experience derail everything. Maybe just try starting back up with a lower dose? Seven pounds is significant progress; if I were in your shoes, I’d keep going once things settle down.

You won't be able to return the medication, obviously, but if you're truly set on quitting, maybe try reselling it. Someone might reach out through the forum or you could list it on Facebook Marketplace...

It was likely just a stomach flu... though it probably felt worse because of everything else going on. I stopped taking Wegovy per the doctor's advice and planned to restart once I felt more stable...
Once I settled down, I felt better—enough to find the courage to start over. I lowered my dose from 3mg down to 1.8mg. I just took my second shot, and honestly, I'm feeling off again... I think I might be done with this. The side effects—nausea, abdominal pain, and constant burping—are exhausting. I'm really hoping I don't end up vomiting. Before the flu hit, everything was fine, aside from some mild, passing nausea... nothing major.
Since I've already opened a new box, if anyone happens to have a prescription and finds the pharmacy prices too steep, feel free to message me. I keep them refrigerated so they're perfectly safe, and we can certainly talk about a fair price.
Hang in there, ladies... I'm not giving up. I just have to find the specific method that actually works for my body so I can finally hit my goal.

What if you tried working out a bit? Maybe just start with walking and see how it goes...?

Thanks for the advice! I actually managed to walk 9.3 miles today.

I don't really know much about leptin or ghrelin; it never crossed my mind that you could actually get tested for those things. If I had to guess, I'd say my 🙂 is pretty low. But hey, one step at a time...

I'm not really familiar with leptin or ghrelin levels; it didn't occur to me that you could actually get testing done for those. I'd assume they're low, 🙂 but I suppose we just take it one step at a time...

If those levels are too high, you end up eating more than you actually need. Have you ever experimented with autophagy?

Day 6. The nausea has finally cleared up, along with that constant feeling of bloating. My appetite is back at 100% now. It seems I've successfully adjusted to the dose.

It’s wild how fast you seem to have adjusted to the Wegovy. I’m guessing you had to bump up your dosage to get there? Or is that not how it works? What are other users saying about it?

Once the autophagy kicks in, I find myself eating twice as much just to make up for it! :-)

I'm only on my first dose right now. I'll be moving up to 1.2 on Tuesday. Regarding autophagy, it's actually more effective to consume about 800 calories in the morning so you have the entire day to burn them off, rather than waiting until evening. That first month was brutal—trying not to eat anything after 6:00 PM led to intense hunger pangs. My stomach would act up, so I'd drink turmeric tea just to trick my body into feeling full. Once you get past that initial crisis, things become much easier. I managed to lose 14 kg through diet alone by sticking to healthy habits, but I hit a wall and needed an extra push. My weight has been stuck for a year despite regular exercise and cutting out all sweets, soda, and bread...

In my opinion, the timing of when you eat your calories doesn't really matter; what actually counts is the total number of calories you consume versus how many you burn.

The more I Google this stuff, the more types of these injections I seem to find. I’m just hoping my endocrinologist is feeling generous and decides to prescribe me some 🙂

I suspect you might have a misunderstanding regarding how this medication works. It’s essentially a tool for people dealing with metabolic issues who have hit a wall with traditional dieting. If you don't maintain a consistent eating plan, you'll barely see any progress, and you'll have wasted $500 over three months... but hey, everyone is entitled to their opinion. I just hope you aren't too disappointed if the weight loss doesn't go exactly as you envisioned.

It looks like you’re reading my mind perfectly, so honestly, you should probably start your own psychic hotline or tarot reading business—you’d easily clear way more than $500 a week. I’m not the one responsible for your lack of progress; if things aren't working out, you just need to put in the effort. Keep practicing, get moving, and the weight will start dropping much faster!

Day 7, down 7.7 lbs. Started at 177.2, currently sitting at 169.5. Moving up to the 1.2 mg dose today. Feeling fine—no weakness or anything, just drinking significantly more water than usual.

I actually bumped my dose up to 1.2 today too! 🙂

To be honest, though, I was already starting to feel like the previous dose wasn't really doing much for me yesterday or even the day before. It felt like I needed more.

I haven't stepped on the scale yet, but I did notice things moving along a bit faster in the bathroom today than usual.

I actually had surgery last Friday, so I’ve been moving a little slow lately since I really need to take it easy and rest up.
I had every intention of being super strict with my diet, getting some movement in, and staying consistent with the medication, but recovery comes first!
So, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for some solid progress by the time my check-up rolls around in September.

I'll be hitting it hard again next week!

To be honest, even yesterday and the day before, I felt like the medication wasn't really doing anything. It was as if the previous dose had already lost its punch.

I haven't stepped on the scale yet, but I did notice some loose stools today, which isn't typical for me.

My original plan was to stay on top of my diet, keep moving, and stick to the medication schedule.
So, I'm hoping for some solid results by the time my follow-up comes around in September.

I’m hitting it hard starting next week.

It clearly isn't a lack of willpower; we just adapt incredibly fast...
Before this, I spent about six months on keto, but my endocrinologist moved me back to a diabetic-friendly meal plan to ensure I'm getting all the necessary food groups. Good luck!

Here’s a quick update from my side! I started on Wegovy at the end of February, and I’ve been on the full 3 mg dose for about a month now. The results have been absolutely mind-blowing—I’m down 14 pounds! It actually caught me totally off guard since I haven't even been weighing myself outside of my doctor's appointments.

I’ve adjusted to it pretty well overall. Aside from some bouts of nausea and diarrhea for a few days whenever I bumped up the dosage, I don't really deal with any side effects anymore.

As for my routine, I’m not hitting the gym or doing anything intense because my schedule is just so packed, but I am being very mindful of what I eat. I stick to smaller meals and have cut out sweets and bread entirely.

To be honest, I feel like the effect of Wegovy is somewhat mild; I don't get that overwhelming feeling of being stuffed, so I still have to exercise a bit of self-control. Still, life is definitely better with it than without it!
The only real downside is the cost, which is honestly driving me crazy now that I'm on the full dose. I have to grab a new box every 18 days, and at $150 a pop, it adds up fast.
I would love to switch over to Ozempic just to save some money, but if that doesn't work out, it doesn't work out. At least I'm saving a fortune on groceries!
Good luck to everyone!

Way to go, that’s an incredible result!

How many meals are you having a day, and what does a typical portion look like? If you don't mind sharing, I'd love to hear more.

We all know self-discipline is everything, but let's be real—do you think you could've hit these numbers just by sheer willpower without the medication?

And yeah, the cost is no joke! Did you have a specific diagnosis to get started? Like insulin resistance, diabetes, or was it just a high BMI?

Elizabeth Clark43 said:So here's my little update! I kicked off my Saxenda journey at the end of February, and now I’ve been cruising on the full 3 mg dose for about a month. And oh my gosh, the results—I am down 14 pounds! It totally caught me off guard since I haven't even stepped on a scale outside of my doctor's office. Honestly, I handled the transition pretty well; once I got past those few days of nasty nausea and stomach issues while bumping up the dosage, I barely feel any side effects at all anymore.

I’m not really hitting the gym or anything because life is just so hectic right now, but I’ve been super mindful about what I eat—basically sticking to smaller portions and cutting out the bread and sweets entirely.

To be honest, it feels like the Saxenda isn't doing *all* the heavy lifting for me; I don't feel completely stuffed after eating, so I definitely still have to use a bit of willpower. But hey, it's still way better than trying to do this on my own!

The only real headache is the price tag, which is honestly soul-crushing once you're on the full dose. Since I need a new box every 18 days and they cost about $140, it adds up fast.

I’d love to switch over to Ozempic just to save some cash, but if that doesn't work out, I guess I'll just keep grinding. At least I'm saving money on groceries!

Good luck, everyone!

Way to go! Huge congrats!

That is literally my exact experience! It’s such a relief to hear someone else say it, because I always felt like everyone else was having a "better" time with it than I was. Like, I actually still feel hunger pangs and stuff, even though the side effects have been pretty minimal for me.

I managed to drop about 40 pounds since late January, but things have slowed down quite a bit from Easter until now. I've also let things slide a little because work has been absolutely insane lately, so finding time to move is basically impossible. It'll get back on track soon, fingers crossed!

It's wild how nobody seems to be complaining about the cost. That massive price tag drives me absolutely crazy!

Keep crushing it!
