I'll admit I thought about it, but then I realized I'd be shutting the door on the PDF NYC scene forever. Plus, Casilda would never let me hear the end of it, constantly nagging me about how I'm not sticking to the rules.

Alright, here's my take...

We need a total overhaul of the moderation team. The people running things actually need to know what they're talking about instead of just acting like they do.

I mean, look at the Supreme Court—they vote by majority on cases. Here, all the mods have to agree on someone regardless of whether they even moderate that specific subforum or not, which is just insane. What does someone's connection to some random Eurovision scandal even have to do with anything?! Like, wtf?!

Look, I get it, mods are human too, but building a whole profile on someone based solely on their posts is 🤦

They really ought to ask themselves why some people wouldn't even moderate here if they were dead.

Partial bans (whether they're standard or requested) are handed out left and right. It’s pretty obvious the admin wants people to write less, because there’s no logical explanation for anything else. If someone requests a partial ban, it makes sense to ask *why*, not just say "here's your ban, deal with it."

It’s ridiculous that a user can be fine on one subforum but totally banned on another. That just doesn't work.

It’s not all on the users, though; the mods are feeling the heat too.

The moderation is so inconsistent. You’ll have the exact same mod handling the same issue completely differently—like, they’ll slap a C/P ban instantly on one thread, then ignore it entirely on another. Same person, different rules.

The site needs an upgrade, both visually and technically.

There should be a way for users to have a say—maybe through a public poll—in who moderates their subforum. People should be posting there, not just whoever the admin decided to install. It would actually show that management cares about the people writing the content.

That’s just what popped into my head.

Oh, and one more thing: at college, if students give a professor bad reviews three times, that prof is basically gone. Here? Nothing happens. People complain, and the higher-ups just ignore it like dogs barking at a passing truck.

It doesn't matter which other moderators happen to be online at any given moment; the expectation is that we reach a consensus. If we can't come to a unanimous decision, then the status quo remains.

I keep a running tally of my cards, so I always know exactly who’s been hitting me up (not counting yellows)

At one point, I hit 990 points

The absolute peak, though—getting carded while you're already banned

Man, if that's how things worked, even the Supreme Court would be a joke. Even they mostly rule by majority vote with a few dissenting opinions here and there.

Like with those COVID-19 certificates—there were three dissenting opinions where people didn't agree, but the majority decided the certificates were legal.

Look, that is easy enough to explain. In Zoran's eyes, everyone is a right-winger unless they happen to be a leftist... but you have to admit, he was more than willing to indulge your desire for a label. Imagine if he had actually pushed back or if he had truly "figured you out."

As for the number of red cards... I am sitting at exactly 250. I am just a few short of completing an eighth deck, though even one being pulled—and that too from that notorious kclllc—makes a difference.
I intend to sell the seventh deck to that lunatic from Iceland who is waiting for the seventh coming, which Godot will personally deliver to him.
