Jason Campbell70 said:I’m completely fed up with this race. Instead of witnessing a heavyweight showdown between the two best drivers on the grid today, we spent 70 grueling laps watching Esteban Ocon and Sebastian Vettel just aimlessly circling the track without even a hint of an overtake attempt.
Well, that’s exactly what we got, and frankly, it’s a damn shame it only lasted about ten laps. Even in that tiny window, Lewis Hamilton (once again) proved he’s simply operating on a different level than Fernando Alonso.

Jacob Castillo70 said:I’ve been rewatching that incredible battle between Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton—just brilliant. Fernando knew exactly how to handle his former teammate. He closed off the gaps just enough that Lewis had to lift—taking those corners earlier just to avoid that classic Lewis inside-to-outside overtake maneuver. It was masterclass defensive driving for ten straight laps. Honestly, it makes it even more impressive knowing Carlos Sainz couldn't hold it up nearly as long.
Today, Fernando proved exactly why he’s a two-time world champion. 🙏
I enjoyed every single second of that duel. Pure Formula 1 perfection.
We really need to appreciate what we have right now—because in a few years, we won't have Alonso, Lewis, or Sebastian Vettel anymore. It'll just be these rookies who giggle whenever someone mentions "suck."

I don't really buy into this "luck" versus "bad luck" thing—it’s all just reality. And the reality is that Lewis Hamilton put himself in a perfect spot with those qualifying times, making sure he wouldn't get swallowed up at the start today.
Mercedes-AMG has stepped up their game over the last two races—they're basically sitting right there with Red Bull Racing now. They've done the upgrades, so now we just wait to see who can actually deliver when things get tight.
As for Fernando Alonso, he's showing everyone exactly why he belongs here. If you set aside Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen, he's easily one of the top three drivers on the grid right now.

Essentially, you're imagining some alternate reality, deciding how a driver *would* have acted in that scenario, and then judging them based on non-existent behavior during an event that never actually happened.
I don't think that's quite right.

I don't think that's how this works.
Honestly, listening to your logic just gives me a headache.
The second things don't go his way, the whining starts. It’d be great if Fernando Alonso just cleared out of his way so he could charge ahead, right? I guess he’s under the impression everyone else is stuck in the Valtteri Bottas tier and will just vanish the moment he starts crying about it. And when that fails, he'll probably try to pull some strings with the stewards to get his way.
For a multi-time champion, that kind of attitude is pretty pathetic.

goldenranger6 said:Your whole philosophy—honestly, it’s just painful to read.
The second things don't go his way, he starts whining. As if he needs Fernando Alonso to just clear out of the way so he can charge ahead unimpeded. Does he actually think everyone else is as mediocre as Valtteri Bottas—just waiting to step aside the moment he complains? And when that fails, what then? A desperate attempt to manipulate the stewards?
For a multi-time champion, this behavior is beneath him.
Who exactly is whining?
What are you even on?
Why are you so worked up, Bogte Hejtaj?
Either stop hating or just stay quiet—it's your choice.

What are you even on?
Seriously, man, take a chill pill.
Stop hating or just don't bother, it's your call.
Why do you even care? Just mind your own business.
Did you even watch the race?

So, Valtteri Bottas is facing a five-place grid penalty in Belgium. Honestly, this feels like the perfect opening for Toto Wolff to pull off some kind of grandmaster 5-D chess move. Imagine if he slots George Russell into the Mercedes seat for this one, lets Bottas burn through that penalty while driving for Williams Racing, and suddenly we’ve got Christian Horner and Red Bull Racing completely thrown off their game. 🤣 🤣 🤣

I mean, let's not get ahead of ourselves here. I guess Alonso did have a stellar race, and his defense was pretty solid until things went sideways, but at the end of the day, his teammate won in that exact same car. It’s not like he was dragging a Haas F1 Team to a podium finish; he was in a Renault, which has always had some decent bite on this track, and we saw that play out during that chaos in the first lap.
Without all that wreckage getting in the way, he probably would've just been fighting for a lonely point like he usually does,
and honestly, saying he's on the same pace as Max or Lewis feels like a bit of a stretch to me.
I suppose putting anyone on the grid next to Max is a massive debate anyway. I'm not really his biggest fan, but man, he's just operating on a different level this season.

Jason Campbell70 said:Sebastian Vettel was disqualified.
He actually claimed he wouldn't care if they disqualified him. But look at that—it wasn't even about his shirt.
What actually happened at the end there? Why didn't his unknown engineer suggest he pit earlier if they were seeing those fuel consumption issues? Honestly, I think the FIA is being incredibly shortsighted here; everyone ended up underfueled because of those rainy conditions right at the start.

Chasing after Esteban Ocon really cost him there. If he’d managed to overtake him during one of those segments, things would have looked a lot different. Such a shame...

What actually happened at the finish? Why didn't his American engineer suggest pitting earlier if fuel consumption was becoming an issue? Msm, the FIA's judgment here feels a bit clumsy; everyone was running underfueled because of those rainy conditions at the start.
Here, take this.
From what I gathered regarding the paddock drama after the race, Jo Bauer gave them the green light to try any way possible to extract the necessary fuel from the car under his supervision.
They couldn't pull it off. The disqualification was just the logical outcome.

Even if it means that Finnish underdog Rajkonen managed to scrape together a point, I’ve still got mixed feelings about it. 🙂 😢

Another influencer getting lucky again. Honestly, how much more luck can one person actually have? It’s getting ridiculous.

It looks like he’s finally starting to pull through.
