Why was the "political aspect of pandemics" thread deleted?

The headline pretty much speaks for itself, so I’ll just get straight to the point with the moderators: Is there some kind of rule against discussing a pandemic here, especially when the whole thing is clearly loaded with political implications?

I'd appreciate an answer.

Since being a moderator isn't exactly a full-time career for them—it's more of a hobby—I don't see why those who disagree with how this American forum is being managed have to just bite their tongues and stay quiet.
