I honestly don't get why everyone is losing their minds right now; there’s absolutely nothing controversial here, and it’s definitely not the first or the last time we're going to see a showdown like this.
From wanker with love…
Let's keep moving, because there's plenty more where that came from... 🙂

Max Verstappen is basically the culprit behind everything

Back at the 1980 US Grand Prix in Detroit—the penultimate race of that season—Didier Pironi ended up with a jump start on the restart.
Even though he led most of the race and technically crossed the finish line first, it didn't mean much—the stewards hit him with a 60-second penalty immediately. That dropped his total time down, leaving him in third place, about 20 seconds behind the leaders.
It’s worth noting that forty years ago, back when tech was still pretty primitive, the officials didn't spend years debating things in a room somewhere; decisions were made on the spot, everyone knew the verdict, and Pironi went ahead and took his third-place spot on the podium just like anyone else.

I think I'll steer clear of commenting on that collision between Lewis and Max—I'd rather not risk getting another permanent ban.

The whole concept of a Sprint race is absolute nonsense.
It’s just an utterly pointless addition to the weekend.
Lewis Hamilton has finally proven he lacks the necessary grit, and frankly, I suspect Max Verstappen is going to make his life quite difficult from here on out.

It barely edged out Imola.

I honestly lost interest in the race once Max crashed; I just didn't know what to root for anymore.

A complete waste of time.
Lewis Hamilton finally admitted he’s just not about it. Max is going to absolutely wreck him now.

Honestly, Formula 1 has been boring and pretty much pointless for at least ten years now.

That race was so incredible I’ve already gone back for a second replay on Sky.

Best race, best driver, best commentary crew.

A pure Formula 1 masterpiece.

Best race, best driver, best commentators. Pure Formula 1 perfection.

I'd agree the race was top-tier, though for different reasons.

First off, that collision was "top-tier." It’s rare we get to see the two main—honestly, the only—players in this title fight go at it like that. I'm writing this knowing Max Verstappen is physically fine, thankfully.
I suspect this incident will have long-term consequences for the rest of the season. Lewis Hamilton can't really get any luckier than he did here (and back at Imola). If they keep bumping into each other, the stats will eventually balance out their luck. On the flip side, Max shouldn't be letting anyone through. So, there's no winning scenario here. 🙂

Second, Charles Leclerc took P2. That’s a massive result for Ferrari, or more accurately, for Leclerc himself, considering how hard it's been to imagine. He beat
Valtteri Bottas (in a car that was at least half a second faster per lap), both Red Bull Racing cars, both McLaren Racing cars (by a mile), and his own teammate by 40 seconds (which averages out to about 0.8 seconds a lap). Brilliant. 🙏

As far as the Survey goes, it was a stellar race.

Man, if you thought the track at Indianapolis Motor Speedway was a mess, just look at how it looked earlier—it was basically a swamp

This footage clearly demonstrates that Ayrton Senna was operating on an entirely different level compared to Alain Prost and Michael Schumacher.

And he did it while driving a McLaren Racing car that was underpowered by about 100 horsepower.

Roger Wright94 said:I’d definitely call that race top-tier (though maybe for different reasons than you think).

First off, that crash? Pure chaos. It was absolutely wild. We rarely get to see the two heavy hitters—the only real players even in the conversation for the championship—clash like that. I'm saying this while being genuinely relieved that Max is physically fine, obviously.
I honestly think this whole mess is going to have massive ripple effects for the rest of the season. Honestly, if Lewis gets any luckier than he did today (and after what happened at Imola), he’s basically cheating at this point. If they keep running into each other like this, the math is just going to even out the luck eventually. On the flip side, Max can't afford to play nice or let things slide either. So, yeah, it’s a total lose-lose situation regardless of how you look at it. 🙂

Second, look at Leclerc taking P2. That is nothing short of incredible, especially considering how hard it’s been for Ferrari—well, specifically for Leclerc—to pull off anything remotely decent lately. He managed to beat
Bottas (who was running a car at least half a second faster per lap), both Red Bulls, and both McLarens (by a mile) plus his own teammate by a massive 40 seconds, which averages out to about 0.8 seconds a lap. Just absolute brilliance. 🙏

As for the Survey, that was a legendary race.

Alright, look, there’s actually a perfectly logical explanation for that.
