It feels somewhat hypocritical that Max, much like Crashstappen, is now demanding apologies—especially after he was so seemingly contrite and repentant about his own maneuvers just moments ago. 🤣

Thank God he’s alright; the collision was nothing more than a standard racing incident. It’s exactly what the rest of the grid would say—both drivers were simply going for broke.

thank God everything is okay. To me, the collision was just a standard racing incident. It’s what everyone else is saying—both drivers were just going for it, all or nothing.

It was a racing incident, but I think Lewis carries more of the blame here.
Lewis didn't really have a clean line; he was essentially banking on how much Max would give him.
Max gave him a little bit of room, maybe even could have given more, but if he had, he would have lost too much speed through the corner and lost the position entirely.

Watching Lewis celebrate like that after the race felt pretty pathetic. What an idiot.

Max gave him a little bit of room, sure, and he could have given even more—but if he had, Lewis would've lost his momentum through the corner and ended up losing the position anyway.

That whole celebration from Lewis after the race was pathetic. What an idiot.

I completely agree regarding the celebration part. He shouldn't have done that. Britons—always the same story...

Christian Horner is incredibly sharp; he can spin any narrative to suit his needs, and honestly, keeping up with his mental gymnastics is exhausting.
Toto Wolff plays the same games, but at least he keeps his cool when he’s whining.

Word just came in over the radio—Maxić is doing fine; he’s staying at the hospital for some follow-up tests.

I don't see anything wrong with celebrating—it’s not as if Max was in critical condition, or broken, or facing any life-threatening issues—yet here this guy is, celebrating.

Right after the race, during that Sky interview, Ham was basically like, "Man, I had no clue this guy ended up in the hospital" 🤷

Even Michael Schumacher managed to pull off a win at Imola, so why act surprised now?

Both Toto Wolff and Christian Horner are strictly focused on their own teams' interests, making sure their drivers get whatever advantage they can. At the end of the day, people are just assets to be used up...

And man, that rowdy British crowd... just imagine the noise they were making. People are out here hating for absolutely no reason, I guess, mostly because the broadcast made it look like they were celebrating when, uh, they were actually still mid-corner. It’s pretty obvious everyone is just on edge.

It’s not even remotely the same thing—not even close. And besides, is this really supposed to be some kind of excuse for Lewis? Because it doesn't feel like it.

This situation hits differently than your typical racing incident. Both drivers really should have been more careful here. When you're hitting 250+ mph through a corner, even the slightest touch is enough to lose control completely.

I don't get why everyone's freaking out about the celebration—it's not like Max was in critical condition, or broken, or even near death, yet here we are with people celebrating.

Max didn't even lose a single hair.

Twenty or thirty years ago, nobody would have even thought twice about him ending up in the hospital because of water.

Fine. What exactly would you have done differently than Max? You brake, and you basically tell Lewis Hamilton, "Hey, feel free to just drive right past me." You can't move left because you'll end up off the track—so I honestly don't get the people claiming he should have left more space—what else was there?

It’s wild how much Max’s fans have just checked their brains at the door. In their world, Max is the greatest driver to ever live—it’s just a shame he hasn't had a decent car like Lewis, since he’s always been stuck in something far superior to everyone else. If Max wins this season, they'll claim he’s the exact same driver as last year, just in a significantly faster machine. But obviously, the fanboys can't handle the mental loop of admitting it’s the car and not just Max being the absolute 🙏

Look, it’s the car. It’s also the driver. And yeah, it’s the team. That’s how it works for every single champion in history—everything has to click perfectly at the same time. If Max takes it this year—and honestly, I hope he does because watching these races turn into boring processions with massive leads is a drag—it won't be because he’s some mythical god-tier driver, it’ll be because everything finally lined up for him this season

This whole idol worship thing is a joke. Everyone conveniently forgets all of Max’s reckless crashes; how Red Bull blatantly favors him over pretty much anyone else who’s ever stepped foot in that team. I mean, comparing the royal treatment he gets to what Ricciardo or Gasly dealt with is insane—even someone like Bottas, who basically exists to clear a path, gets treated better than they did. Then there's Max's selfish driving on track, especially in qualifying where he expects everyone to move out of his way, yet he won't budge for anyone

Max basically assumed the entire grid had already accepted him as the champion and would just get out of his way, so now he’s whining because things actually got tough. And Horner’s whole dramatic routine about being in the hospital (for a routine checkup, mind you) is just pathetic, bottom-of-the-barrel behavior

Sam Clark75 said:It’s honestly fascinating how much Max's fanbase has abandoned logic. According to them, Max is the greatest driver to ever live, but he just hasn't had any luck because he hasn't been in a top-tier car—unlike Louis, who won titles because he was always in the best machinery. If Max wins this season, his fans will claim he's the exact same driver as last year, just in a significantly faster car. I don't think those fanboys could handle the mental loop of admitting it's about the car rather than Max being the absolute best. 🙏

Of course it’s about the car. Of course it's about the driver. And of course it's about the team. That's how it works for every champion in history—everything has to align perfectly at the right moment. If Max takes it this year (and personally, I hope he does, because watching the same predictable processions and massive point gaps every race is getting tedious), it won't be because he's some mythical driving god. It'll be because everything finally clicked for him this season.

This level of idolatry is ridiculous. People seem to have completely forgotten all of Max's reckless collisions, or how Red Bull favors him so heavily over anyone else who has ever stepped foot in that garage. To put it in perspective, even a "number two" driver like Bottas gets more royal treatment in Mercedes than Ricciardo or Gasly ever received at Red Bull. Then there's Max's selfish style on track, especially during qualifying, where he expects everyone to move out of his way, yet he refuses to yield to anyone.

Max acted like the entire grid had already conceded that he'd be champion this year, so everyone should just get out of his way. Now he's complaining because people actually showed him some teeth. And Horner’s theatrical performance about being in the hospital (for a routine checkup, mind you) is just pathetic.

Give me a break. He's the only one who could even give Lewis a run for his money, and that was in a car that wasn't even close to a title contender outside of a few specific tracks.

Besides, if Lewis were truly the GOAT people claim he is, he would have chased down Max regardless. Max actually has a smaller advantage this year than Lewis had last year, or even in their previous matchups.
What a legendary GOAT. In his first season fighting against a more complete car, he's basically relying on other people's bad luck. If Max hadn't had that tire failure in Las Vegas and they hadn't had contact yesterday, the championship would already be decided.
He is the GOAT; he's showing us what that means now that he's dealing with a slightly weaker car.

Who cares if he's the GOAT or if Max is just built different? I just want some actual racing—no boring processions and no one-team dominance. And seriously, can we please stop with all this pathetic whining from both sides? Man up!

If they had just kept their composure instead of whining, we wouldn't have seen a Red Flag, and the situation would have resolved itself quite naturally when Lewis realized his race car was too damaged to continue. To me, that feels like the only fair outcome if we're truly calling this a racing incident—both drivers took the risk, so both should bear the consequences without the need for an official penalty. ☕

If you had told anyone twenty or thirty years ago that he’d be heading to the hospital after being hit by water, they wouldn't have even believed you.

I'm right there with you—thirty years ago, he wouldn't have made it out alive.

Facts. Either races become totally sterile—where everything is decided right at the start or in the pits—or we get this chaotic mess where drivers actually push it and have to weigh the risks to themselves, others, and their cars. Looking at what the 2022 cars look like, I'd say we're headed straight for that boring first scenario.

You're talking nonsense.

Neither Senna nor Alain Prost even felt a thing at Turn 1 during Suzuki 1990.

Speed and impact are just part of the game somewhere in there.

Plus, Damon Hill spun out at Turn 1 on the second lap at Hockenheimring back in '95 and was totally fine. Speed and impact are always lurking.

There are at least ten more examples.

Villeneuve Eau Rouge 1999

Schumacher Imola 1995

Verstappen Spa 1996
