Lewis Hamilton backed off just enough to let Max Verstappen pull ahead. You can actually hear it in the engine note—he eased off the throttle and let Max take the lead.

The crew definitely needs to clear the car off the track and fix that wall. What’s the point of driving ten laps behind the SC while they're busy over there fixing things? Just give them some space...🙄

Even if he gets slapped with a 5-second penalty, his only real competition is out of the running. That little rat Bottas will just cruise to the finish, and honestly, he’ll probably find it worth the trouble.

I’m not exactly a fan of Hamilton—the guy’s an absolute jerk, always getting handed the fastest cars on the grid... But... I have to admit, this time around he was actually right. It was better for him to take that line, especially since Verstappen just dove straight into his space; there was nowhere for him to go. Honestly, seeing how Verstappen drives lately, it reminds me a bit of Senna...

If Jenson Button, a Briton himself, can sit there stone-faced and claim Hamilton deserves a penalty and had no room to maneuver, then screw that. 🤦

Three corners earlier at Daytona International Speedway, Hamilton had half a car's length on the outside, but he eased off just enough to let them through.
Max didn't give an inch, and well, we all saw how that turned out.

Racing incidents happen, but the fault lies more with Lewis.
This shouldn't result in a penalty.

The issue with Lewis is that he braked before the turn, even though it was his corner to take. If that was his corner, he had the better line, which means there's no reason to brake earlier than his competitor.
