Discussion thread: Eric Adams, Mayor of Chicago

The discussion regarding the new Mayor of Chicago has devolved into an absolute circus.
- Those who worship this hand-picked (and somehow elected) mayor are granted total immunity. They are permitted everything from religious fervor to insulting any public figure who hasn't shed a tear of joy since Adams's (and his party's) victory, not to mention their blatant disrespect toward any forum member who doesn't belong to their cult.
- Meanwhile, the rest of us—those outside the inner circle—are forced to endure a constant barrage of primitive outbursts from the zealots, all while being expected to write with extreme caution so as not to offend a single one of their precious followers. Any attempt to push back against such crudeness is strictly forbidden. One simply must not, under any circumstances, engage in a confrontation with these fighters for a "better" past.
- Then there is the moderator, who vigilantly ensures everything adheres strictly to the party line, preventing even the slightest deviation. The draconian punishments and multi-month bans handed out during the campaign—should anyone dare suggest that the almighty Adams might not be the sole, divinely appointed leader—have constituted some of the worst censorship this forum has ever seen.

Therefore, I propose that we split the topic regarding the mayor into two distinct threads:
- Eric Adams, Mayor of the City of Chicago—the one, the only, the eternal (provided Chloe Campbell95 remains the moderator)
- Eric Adams, Mayor of the City of Chicago—life and works (with a different moderator assigned)

Gregory Hall66, we’re going to settle this one way or another: either you stop the trolling, or you'll start getting rewarded with bans for your constant trolling and off-topic outbursts:

- This thread focuses on the new Mayor, Eric Adams, who was born in 1982, and within this discussion, you won't be allowed to troll about political parties, the old Yugoslavia era, the sixties, the seventies, party courts, historical political factions, or any attempts to derail the conversation into unrelated topics or off-topic tangents.

If you just can't seem to move past those bygone eras, then maybe this isn't the right topic for you... if the trolling continues, you will face appropriate sanctions. Just remember, the administrators can see every single one of your posts.

The proposal is rejected. Neither you nor anyone else will be deciding who serves as a moderator, nor will this space be governed by your preferences or anyone else's. It certainly isn't our job as moderators to fix the fact that some users struggle to express their views with a modicum of decency.

Moderation has been quite lenient during both the pre-election and post-election debates, but even that has its limits.
