Forum members being insulted on Corona

Why is it that on all these threads about Corona, insulting other Forum members is actually allowed?
Every time someone expresses even a shred of doubt—whether they’re questioning if Corona is truly harmless or suggesting there might be some conspiracy theories at play—they get hit with a barrage of insults. If you aren't a vocal supporter of vaccines, you're immediately labeled a "sheep" or worse. It’s just a constant stream of direct vitriol.

For example:
Person A: I haven't been vaccinated yet; I'm still waiting for my appointment call.
Person B: Where's the rest of the flock?

I am firmly convinced that such behavior simply cannot be tolerated here. However, if an occasional insult manages to slip through the cracks, I suppose that is inevitable. It would be highly beneficial if you could report those posts directly. Otherwise, we would be forced to stand guard over every single thread, which is quite frankly an impossible task.

It feels like a slight oversight on the Forum; it would be much more practical for several reasons to know whenever Mod joins a thread. 😉

There’s no such thing as a special moderator tag next to a username—at least not as far as I’m aware. You can tell who a moderator is because their name shows up in black, whereas regular users have blue names.
Of course you'll see moderators posting all over the place; they're still members of this community, after all. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter who is contributing to a thread, it's the content itself that counts. If a moderator needs to make an official note, those will be clearly distinguished by a different color.

Within seconds, I received a 🙂 private 🙂 message that didn't waste any time getting to the point: "Dear coppersailor28...".
(Needless to say, I didn't read the rest; I deleted her attempt at flirting immediately. There are specific subforums for dating and romance in the States; go find your "dear" there.)

The entire thread is practically crawling with insults, so picking out individual posts feels like a lost cause, doesn't it?

I've been reporting the insults consistently; if the system isn't catching them, that's hardly the fault of the users doing the reporting.

If you're really going to insist, I can pull together a hundred examples of insults from this thread by tomorrow evening.
I don't think there's much point in doing it, but if you're dead set on it, I can make it happen.

In the Politics section, if you buy a moderator a beer, they’ll basically let anyone say whatever nonsense they want to other users.

Moderation in the Politics section is way looser than it is in the entire Corona PDF, and man, I really hope it stays that way.
If the moderators from Politics ever started acting like that over here, I’d shut this whole forum down myself. You'll see them all migrating to that thread. Seriously though, kudos to everyone in Politics for keeping this topic going from day one until now.
