I'd suggest this instead:

- Run a full system scan using Malwarebytes.
- Check your hard drive health via HDTune (run both the health and error scans) or CrystalDiskInfo.
- Perform a MemTest (just look up a quick tutorial online to get it running).
- Try disabling Turbo Boost and "Cool and Quiet" settings within your BIOS.

I’m going back through this entire thread again... Just ignore the temperatures for now. Like you already heard, it’s hot out, and if the ambient temp is hitting near 90°F—which it is—then your temps are actually totally normal.

The only real way to confirm or rule out your suspicions is to swap GPUs with someone else and see if the issues follow the card. If your rig runs fine but a different machine starts acting up with your GPU, then send that thing back for an RMA. If it isn't the GPU, then you can start looking elsewhere...

Honestly, I don't think we're going to get anywhere just by sitting here theorizing...

Look, honestly, everything is totally fine and those temperatures are completely normal, so there's really zero reason to be stressing out about it.
If it's actually messing with your workflow or giving you grief, then just go ahead and reach out for some help.

Well, it looks like I finally sorted the whole mess out—honestly, I have no idea how much of an issue that was actually related to, but I went ahead and ran a BIOS update and—lo and behold!—after the reboot, every single temperature reading just... normalized. Now, when I'm running a game, the GPU hits about 55 degrees—and the second I close the game, it drops back down to 35 within a few minutes... so I'm thinking we're good now! Thanks to everyone for the help—hope you all have a wonderful day!

55°C under load feels like an icebox 🤣 I’m seeing 35°C at idle and hitting 80°C under load—which is basically the stock temperature threshold where the fans start ramping up.

Well, now I’ve run into yet another little headache... whenever I'm mid-game and the CPU hits that 55° mark, this annoying alarm starts blaring at me—though the game itself keeps running just fine—so, how on earth do I kill that beeping? It stops the second I close the game, which tells me it's definitely thermal-related... can I actually tweak this setting somewhere in the BIOS? My motherboard is an ASUS M5A97-R2.0...
