I’ve gotta vent a little bit about how long these bans actually last. I ended up getting hit with two separate 20-point strikes, but when you look at my account history, it feels like those points have somehow ballooned into a massive penalty way beyond the actual math.

It’s pretty frustrating because it means someone could just flag a perfectly normal post as trolling—even when it clearly isn't—and suddenly your profile is stuck in ban limbo for ages, even though the punishment doesn't actually match what happened.

And honestly, I’ve got some gripes with how these rules are being applied.

I mean, how does a moderator even decide how many points a single strike is worth, or how much time it should actually take?

Let's look at a hypothetical scenario here. If the moderator who gave me 100 points was actually right—though we could probably debate that for a while—then the guy who just slapped me with a 30-point strike has basically sent me straight into a two or three-day timeout.

How is that supposed to be fair? And who exactly gets to decide the "weight" of a specific strike?

On top of that, half the time, a post gets flagged as "trolling," but it isn't even close to trolling. It feels more like a moderator is just clicking the button because they don't feel like reading through everything. I get it, sometimes you just don't want to deal with it, but still.

The thing is, I can't even see which moderators are involved right now since I'm still sitting in the doghouse because of that little 20 or 30-point strike.

Anyway, totally different subject...

This thread is dragging on forever... and it’s just crickets in here.

I mean, what's really the point of complaining if you don't actually have any say in the matter anyway?

You’ve been hanging around this forum since 2014 and managed to rack up about 50 warnings—did you really not realize the points stack up?

It’s pretty straightforward—we have around 30 different subforums, so if you’re being toxic in the Mobile Tech section and then acting out in the Automotive section, those infractions add up.

Just try to stay on the right side of the rules once in a while, and you won't have to worry about penalties bleeding over from one subforum to another.
