Hey everyone, I’m looking to pick up a new PC after being out of the loop for a long while. Since I haven't been keeping up with the hardware scene lately, I'm a bit lost on current pricing and what actually makes a good build these days.

The machine will be primarily for gaming, though I'll use it for general tasks too.

My absolute limit is $1333. I'm totally open to used components if they offer better performance for the money—as long as they come with at least a few months of warranty.
I wouldn't mind a pre-built used system within this budget either, provided it still has some remaining warranty left on it.

+ I also need a monitor for up to $333, ideally a 24" model.

Here is my baseline:
I don't need more than a 240GB SSD.
A 1TB HDD should be plenty.
I’d like at least 6GB of VRAM.
Minimum 8GB of RAM, though more would be better.

I'm assuming you can just grab the parts and build it yourself?

Mainly, it’s worth picking up a used GPU.

Buying a used GPU is usually the smartest move here.

Yeah, putting the thing together is the easy part.

Got any specific builds in mind?

It's brand new, but $100 over 4,000

Use the leftover cash for a used GPU (like an RX580) and/or 16GB of RAM or an HDD.

That processor is basically the same as a Ryzen 5 2600, just clocked 100MHz lower.

This looks like a solid deal. I'd go for it.

Finally pulled a build together, but I'm still stuck on the GPU choice 😁 I'm going with a Ryzen 5 1600 AF (basically on par with a 2600), now I just need a card. I spotted a GTX 1660 for $500 but someone beat me to it. Any suggestions for a GPU under $567? (Keep in mind, I'm totally fine with used gear)
