I am currently in the US looking for a laptop primarily intended for Microsoft Office, web browsing, and watching YouTube or Netflix.
My budget is roughly $550.
Ideally, I would like the machine to have a 256GB SSD.
Beyond that, I am unsure whether it is more beneficial to prioritize higher RAM capacity over a better processor, or vice versa. Additionally, I am wondering if an energy-efficient "U" series processor will be sufficient for my needs. I don't have any specific requirements regarding screen size.
I am also debating whether it makes sense to increase my budget to $650, as there is currently a sale on this model:
https://www.mediamarkt.de/de/product...t-2499482.html
which appears to feature quite solid components
(Intel Core i5-8250U Processor, 8 GB RAM, Intel UHD Graphics 620, 256GB SSD).
Most other options I have found within the $550 range seem to rely on either some mobile AMD's processors, which I am unfamiliar with, or an Intel Pentium.
If anyone is willing to assist, I would truly appreciate your help in making a selection.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions.🙂

Both Intel and AMD processors are perfectly fine here.

Roughly speaking, here’s how you should rank them in this price bracket:

Intel i5-8265U ~ AMD 2500U ~ Intel i5-8250U
>
AMD 2200U
>
Intel i3-8130U ~ i5-7200U
>
Pentiums, AMD Athlons, 7th gen Intel i3s, or whatever else.

Keep in mind the 2500U has noticeably better graphics, while the rest are all pretty much the same.

If I were you, I'd aim for at least an AMD 2200U, a 256GB SSD, and 8GB of RAM—just find the best deal that fits your needs.

👍👍

The 3500U is basically just a 2500U in a different suit (just like how an i5 8265U is barely any different from an 8250U)
