Kyle Edwards5 said:Look, we all know you're an objective guy. You don't even need to state the obvious. Now I see what you meant when you put it that way... 🙂

The driver doesn't even matter here. In a situation where Mercedes-Benz has double the points of anyone else, trying to manufacture drama for something this ambiguous is basically suicide for the sport...

So what, you're saying for the sake of "improving" the sport, some things should be punished strictly, but in other cases, we should just look the other way because the season is getting a bit boring and we need some excitement back?

Basically, if Max does it, the penalty is fine. But if Sebastian Vettel does it and gets a totally legitimate penalty, we should skip it just to keep Mercedes from winning everything so the show stays interesting?

The penalty is justified. Period.

I was just watching the Italian Sky Sports feed, and they immediately pulled up footage from some other race where Lewis Hamilton cut into a Red Bull Racing car just like this, yet he didn't walk away with a penalty.

To say they aren't happy with the call would be an understatement... Sebastian Vettel is clearly the class here, while everyone else is just playing second fiddle.

If they’d handed out penalties like this back when Ayrton Senna was racing, he wouldn't have walked away with a single title.

Richard Walker38 said:Look, here’s the deal: if we want to actually improve the sport, you have to hand out penalties when they're earned. Period. But then you have these other moments where everyone starts looking the other way, acting like rules are just suggestions because the season has been a total snooze-fest and they’re desperate to inject some damn drama back into the broadcast. It's inconsistent, and it's lazy.

So, here’s how it works: if Max pulls a stunt, suddenly the penalty is perfectly justified. But the second Vettel makes a move and gets hit with what is clearly a legitimate penalty, everyone starts whining that the stewards should just scrap it—all because they're desperate to see Mercedes lose a little ground so the race isn't boring. Typical.

The penalty stands. Period..

Oh, sure. Because if you say so, it must be true. 👍

The race was absolute garbage, but honestly? Now the real show begins

Man, you totally shut me down with that one.

Let me ask you again: should penalties just be handed out whenever it's convenient for you? On one hand, someone gets punished, but then when the circumstances change and it would make for a better race, we're supposed to just look the other way for the sake of entertainment?

What are you even rambling about—how much absolute madness does Max have to pull before they actually start handing out penalties?

Richard Walker38 said:It seems that when Max makes a move, the penalty is perfectly justified—but if Sebastian Vettel does the exact same thing and gets a legitimate penalty, suddenly everyone thinks it shouldn't happen. I guess they just want to tweak the rules to keep Mercedes from winning too much, maybe just to make things more interesting for us.

It seems Vettel fans love seeing everyone else get penalized—except him. At least that much is clear. 🤷

Attends one single Grand Prix and suddenly he thinks he’s some kind of expert—ego's inflated to a ridiculous degree, I guess. 🎉

Look at Vettel—he’s practically cutting off the other cars' lines 😲 I don't think we'll see anything more from him; he seems to have become the most emotionally volatile driver out there—if you can even call it that 🤕

The penalty against Sebastian Vettel is completely baseless; frankly, the officials are acting like total idiots.

Ferrari and Vettel need to push back hard on this.

What an absolute joke.

Richard Walker38 said:John lost his sense of reality on this board a long time ago. Everyone knows exactly who’s responsible for the way people treat Max here. Hint: the guy is a massive Sebastian Vettel fan.

Lewis would never pull a stunt like this. He wasn't out there playing games like Vettel, that amateur. He messes up through his own mistake and then makes it worse by blocking his rivals.

I’m not taking Hamilton's side here—I don't exactly love him either—but that penalty was completely deserved.

Since you brought up Hamilton, Vettel, and Max, just ask yourself one thing: what if every single driver acted like Hamilton? I don't mean his driving skill, because he’s clearly the best on the grid, but I mean his behavior both on and off the track. You’d basically have 20 robots with zero emotion, delivering generic lines and generic moves every single time, simply because his algorithm won't allow anything else.

Jeff-

Honestly, Hamilton fans are more cult-like than any extremist group I've ever encountered.😵

Bravo Vettel and bravo to the crowd.
