An acquaintance of mine is looking into starting a small home business focused on digitizing documents and photos. I honestly told him I wasn't sure if there's much money in it, so feel free to ignore that part of the query.
I’m mainly looking for advice on equipment—specifically, what kind of scanner would be best suited for this type of work? And once we narrow down the type, which specific models should I suggest?
Price isn't the primary driver here, though I'd like to find that sweet spot where we get great quality and features without overpaying for nothing.
