Sebastian Vettel: Formula 1 is now more a show and a business than a sport

Sebastian Vettel could walk away from the sport after his Ferrari contract ends amid growing concerns with the regulations

Vettel is right. Formula 1 stopped being just a sport a long time ago. It’s a money factory now—a pure business play for the owners. That is why you won't see those drivers anymore, the ones who actually defied their own teams or fought their teammates like they used to in the old days. We are seeing fewer talented drivers and more so-called "pay drivers." There is no Ayrton Senna left in this game. Today, it is all just PR bullshit designed to move capital.

Pay drivers are what invented racing, I suppose. They kept the sport alive until professional drivers showed up relatively recently. Without them, there wouldn't be any racing at all—maybe just cycling.

Nico Rosberg just called Sebastian Vettel, Michael Schumacher, and Max Verstappen narcissists—though, I guess, it was intended as a compliment regarding their skill and ability 🙂
So, here it is:

Well, thank God someone actually had the guts to say it.

I’m genuinely curious to see how Pierre Gasly and Charles Leclerc handle this one. If you look at Gasly's performance during practice and his showing in the last race, he seems to be struggling right out of the gate.

Well, for once, Williams is actually looking decent at the top of the order 😬 I suspect Daniel Ricciardo will end up right behind Chris Norris again ☕

Lando would have had an absolute flyer if Romain Grosjean hadn't blocked him in that final corner 🙄

There he goes—Lando 🙏

Looks like Chris Norris managed to stay ahead of Daniel Ricciardo after all 😳

Robert Kubica +3.3 🤣 🙏.

Someone seriously needs to swap Stoffel out. He's basically just paying for the privilege of being at the back of the pack. 🤣 It looks like Williams is going to overtake McLaren as the absolute worst team on the grid this season.

We'll see what Gasly does now. 😬 I still maintain that he’s a bit of a mismatch for Red Bull Racing—not that it matters much, since even Kvyat managed to edge him out in Q1 again.😁

Charles is absolutely flying right now—Gasly is barely scraping by at P9 🤣 At this rate, I don't see him making it into Q3.

Vettel managed to flatspot two sets of tires 🙂, interesting enough.

The pressure is on. We don't have the old Kimi Räikkönen anymore who could just power through anything effortlessly. Expect plenty of complaining on the radio tomorrow; it's already starting.

Gasly is a total pushover. Honestly, Red Bull Racing should have just signed Fernando Alonso instead of this guy.

Sebastian Vettel seems completely shaken, and you can really tell he's feeling the pressure. If he doesn't beat Charles Leclerc today, I honestly think his career is over.

RIP Ricciardo's career.

You really need to Google when was the last time McLaren Racing had both drivers stuck in the First Qualifying Session.

It’s been every single GP so far, I think.

Pierre Gasly 🤣 🤣 🤣
