This might sound a little out of left field, but a friend of mine—who actually happens to be an MD but also practices some alternative medicine—mentioned to him that he might be dealing with some intestinal parasites.
So, he went ahead and checked in with his primary care physician, and they ordered a standard stool test where he had to provide samples over a three-day period.
The problem is, those standard tests came back completely clear, showing absolutely nothing out of the ordinary. I guess my question is, is it actually possible for these things to be hiding there, just slipping past a routine screening? Or maybe there are other, more specialized types of testing out there beyond the usual stuff that he should look into?
I totally realize how weird this sounds right off the bat, but if you could please just ignore the backstory and focus on the actual question, I’d really appreciate it.
Thanks so much! 🙂
