Hey there,
I have a Dell Inspiron with a cracked screen, and I actually managed to find a used replacement part from an HP laptop lying around.
Since I really don't want to tear my Dell apart right now, I was wondering if anyone knows if I can just swap the HP display into it? Are the connector slots compatible, and would it even fit properly inside the casing?
The HP display model info is: HP H/W:C4 N1556B6-L0A Rev: C3

From what I can tell, it should work fine. But honestly, you probably already tore it apart just to be sure.

I was actually just hunting through forums for someone dealing with the exact same headache. So, basically, my HP laptop screen (a 620 model, believe it or not) just went totally black out of nowhere... and it’s been with me since 2011!

I mean, I was already planning on treating myself to a new one once I saved up enough cash, but man, this timing is just great... it just died on its own and now I'm stuck. I've got some really important files I need to rescue, and right now, they're totally out of reach. I tried plugging it into a desktop monitor and even hooked it up via HDMI to my TV, but nothing... no signal at all.

Is there any way at all to get this thing to show up on any kind of screen, even if it's just a temporary fix? 😬

Your graphics card probably bit the dust. Say goodbye to it.

Pull the drive, toss it into an external enclosure, and plug it into another PC.

Yeah, that might be it since it won't even fully boot up... 😢 Thanks for the tip!
