Hey everyone, I’m honestly pretty lost when it comes to hardware compatibility and figuring out what actually works together, so I could really use some guidance here. I'm looking to put together a decent gaming rig along with a monitor for a total budget of roughly $1333, maybe topping out at $4,200 if I pay in installments—ideally from a shop that can handle the assembly for me. Any suggestions?

Here’s how I’d put this together... unfortunately, Best Buy doesn't really carry many decent budget monitors.

Crucial DDR4 4GB 2400 MHz P/N: CT4G4DFS824A
Intel Pentium G4560 3.50 GHz Socket 1151
MSI video card AMD Radeon RX 560 OC GDDR5 4GB/128bit, 1196MHz/7000MHz, PCI-E 3.0 x16, DP, HDMI, DVI
HELIOS III case without PSU
Thermaltake TR2 S 450W
WD Caviar Blue 1TB SATA 3 WD10EZEX Hard Drive
ASR H110M-DGS R3.0 Motherboard
MS PC COOL 12cm case fan

Total: $1.00(up to 12 monthly installments) - Best Buy, free assembly

+ monitor:

= $1.50 😬

I guess you could probably set up the monitor yourself. 😉

Grab this one instead; it comes with a 36-month warranty

The price is identical, and honestly, a TN panel is better for gaming anyway. Plus, General Electric hasn't been in this game for ages—it's just some low-end Chinese brand now. I've had my Dell Benq gw2250 for five years already, running at least 10 hours a day, and it still holds up perfectly.

Why on earth is a TN panel better for gaming?

If I were in your shoes, I’d definitely go for a smaller monitor instead 😁 because right now I'm stuck with this 27" Dell and honestly, it's kind of a struggle. I’d really suggest you stick with your old screen for now and just pull the trigger on the PC itself, then maybe upgrade to a massive, high-end monitor down the road once you've got the extra cash sitting around.
I paid full price for mine $600 and man, it was totally worth every penny, even though prices eventually drop and you can find much bigger screens for way less later on.

I paid my own way $600 and it was worth every cent. Obviously, prices drop eventually, and you start seeing massive screens for much less.

Where does it actually say the author even owns a monitor?
