Need some help here.

I’ve got an old laptop that’s essentially a brick—the keyboard is dead, none of the USB ports work, and even the SD card slot is shot. I need to migrate about 30GB of data, mostly photos, over to my new machine.
Any advice?
What would be the fastest way to handle this without breaking the bank?

Is the connection actually holding up (wired or wireless)?

Wireless is fine. I can connect to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth works too. But I’ve tried uploading files over the web and transferring via Bluetooth—it technically works, but it takes an absolute eternity.

My actual goal was connecting two laptops directly via cable. I’ve never done it before, and frankly, I don't know much about the technical side. If there's a way to do it using some kind of parallel or serial cable, how long would that actually take?
Or maybe it’s just smarter to buy an external drive (assuming those are a thing).

Either way, any advice is welcome.

Look, you don't even need the internet for this. Just get both laptops on the same home network—same router, doesn't matter. You can mix and match how they connect, too; both wired, both on Wi-Fi, or one of each... just use a local network share to move the files.

Thanks. I'll give that a shot.
