Underrated gems: Great movies that critics hated

I honestly gave Predator a 0/10
Now, obviously, that's just my take on it, totally subjective and all... not like there's some universal truth to it, right?

Listen, buddy, you are basically the textbook definition of how to mess up movie criticism. You're judging films based on these rigid, preconceived notions instead of looking at what they actually are.

If Predator is fundamentally an action Sci-Fi ADVENTURE horror THRILLER, then that's the yardstick you use to measure it. You shouldn't be sitting there hunting for Lynch in every single frame.

The way you're doing it is just narrow-minded and overly subjective.

And honestly? You aren't even special. It’s the big trend right now—everyone walks in with these pre-packaged standards and biases already set in stone, and that's a mistake from the very first second. ☕

Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close (2011) is one of those more recent films that I think deserves a bit more attention,

Predator, Predator, and more Predator. It’s an absolute masterpiece—it’s got those two legendary scenes that honestly rank among the best ever made.

1- That iconic shot of Arnold Schwarzenegger trekking through the mud.

2- The Predator's self-destruction.

Actually, thinking back on things after the legendary Predator, I can't help but think of a movie that isn't exactly a "masterpiece," but it's one I just love—plus, I'm obsessed with Take My Breath Away. 🙂 Top Gun, obviously.

This was easily one of the most intense movies from my childhood. I remember playing the game on the Commodore 64 where the Predator felt practically invincible, just how it should be.
You could empty two entire clips into him, toss a grenade, or try to outrun the whole squad, and he'd still slap you around like a total amateur. 🙏
