American Honey (2016)

It’s one of those movies where you either love it or you absolutely can't stand it..
Kind of like musicals, really. You’re either all in or you’re totally out..

I have a massive soft spot for films centered around the white trash demographic..
Which basically means I love movies about more than half the people living in America..

Solid film..

Pretty decent flick. I mean, you definitely have to power through nearly three hours for a story that probably could’ve been told perfectly well in ninety minutes, but hey, it’s worth it... I really dug that indie vibe. It’s got this modern hippie coming-of-age energy, super nostalgic and just a little bit playful and steamy... such a mood!

Honestly, LaBeouf still hasn't lost his touch. That role he just took on? It felt so incredibly natural... like he was actually meant to be there! 🙂

I’m not usually the type of person to walk out of a movie halfway through—honestly, I’ll try just about anything—but this one was such a struggle that I actually found it nearly impossible to sit through 😢

Then again, I suppose I might just have a bit of a personal hang-up when it comes to those gritty "white trash" tropes in general...
