So, I just picked up a motherboard and a processor, and now I was wondering if you guys could help me hunt down the best RAM, power supply, and hard drive to round things out—ideally keeping the whole total under $400.
Motherboard:MSI Z87-A
Processor:Intel Core i7-4790k
Thanks a bunch!

P.S. You might want to make sure that motherboard has the latest BIOS update, otherwise I guess that processor won't even boot.

So, I've got the case ready—now how do I actually go about installing the latest BIOS update?
Thanks!

Your best bet is to head straight to the manufacturer's website—just pop your motherboard model into Google to find them—and look under the downloads section for the BIOS. Grab the latest version, toss it onto a USB drive, and plug that right into your machine. When you boot up, jump into the BIOS settings and run the update from there. Just one thing, though—once that update starts, don't touch a single thing. Seriously, just sit tight and let it do its thing until it's finished...
