Checking your browser before browsing Reddit.

Is it just me, or is anyone else getting this weird "notification" pop-up while browsing the forum today?
Every few pages I scroll through, this thing just jumps out and takes over my entire screen—it completely covers the forum for a few seconds before disappearing.

Thanks! I just finally tracked down where that post was "hiding"...

Man, mine's been constantly checking in all day long too... I’m really hoping things settle down by tomorrow, because having it cut out every single time you click something is just plain annoying.

Does anyone actually know how long this whole checking process is going to drag on?

For three days straight, it’s been happening constantly—every single time I write a post and hit "submit," instead of my message actually showing up on the forum, I just get hit with a total blank white screen 😍

I can't decide if it's trying to symbolize pure innocence or if the site is just surrendering to me 😬

And honestly, whenever I try to post, I get hit with this "invalid thread" error message a few times before my message just disappears entirely. It’s becoming a repetitive cycle... now I find myself having to copy everything before hitting send just to be safe.
Does anyone actually know how much longer we're supposed to deal with this?
Is this just another sign that this forum is circling the drain?🤔It feels like they're slowly stripping away every useful feature one by one.

It’s honestly pretty funny, except I can’t even log in from my phone because it just keeps looping that same garbage. I’ll finally manage to get logged in, click on something, and boom—back to the nothingness. 🙄
Just get rid of this mess and fix this site already. ☕

So far, it’s only happening when I'm on my phone.

For those of you who find yourselves staring at a blank white screen... there is actually a very handy little button right in your browser called "back," which should take you straight back to the reply editor where your message is still sitting. Alternatively, you could just hit reply again or simply copy and paste everything 😬

Honestly, I'm with you there; I don't find it charming at all. I was trying to post something yesterday via my phone (I'm using Android and Chrome) and it just wouldn't cooperate. I'd get nothing but a blank white screen after those five seconds of loading checks.
I try hitting "back," redo everything, and it's just the same old story...

Man, this forum is seriously falling apart at the seams. It’s constant. Every single time I log on, there’s some new glitch or mess-up. Pretty soon we won't even be able to sign in or drop a damn post without everything breaking.
And don't even get me started on this "checking" loop. It’s absolute insanity—it just spins for five seconds over and over again before the page finally loads. Then, if you actually want to write something? Forget about it. The whole thing is just a complete circus. You basically have to perform a ritual just to post.

People really end up picking up all sorts of random side hustles they’d never normally touch—it's wild! 😂

Look, as a former moderator myself—trust me when I say this—I know some of the mods hanging out here right now probably feel pretty clueless about everything going down lately. And honestly? It’s not like they have total control over all of this anyway!
Most of the time, those guys are just "security" rather than actual tech crews—so they usually can't even touch anything when stuff starts going sideways!
Even the mods get stumped sometimes—honestly, they have no clue what to tell everyone when things go sideways! Since they’re kept in the dark about what’s actually happening or how long a glitch might last, they're just waiting on word from the IT guys or the admin team before they can give us the real scoop. 🤷

Speaking as a former moderator, I can tell you firsthand—more than once—it gets pretty damn stupid for the mods dealing with the current mess. And honestly? It's not even all on them.
Most of these guys are just "security guards," not the actual IT crew who have the power to fix things when everything goes sideways.
Sometimes they don't even know what to tell the users because they're stuck in the dark, waiting on some admin or tech lead to give them an update on what’s actually happening or how long the outage will last.🤷

Yeah, I get that mods aren't wizards, but there's gotta be someone in charge who can actually step up and do something about this.
One of the biggest, most active forums in the country has turned into a total joke. They've been dragging their feet for months on that feature where you can actually track your own posts and threads. Now the site keeps crashing, it's lagging like crazy, and now this? What’s next? I'm just sitting here waiting for the next disaster to hit.☕

We’re all just shouting into the void here while nobody bothers to listen 😬....maybe not every disaster is a bad thing. Maybe if these forums finally bit the dust, we'd actually have to start socializing in person again 🙂
The constant checking is relentless, and trying to type out a coherent message on a smartphone is a suicide mission... RIP 😁

Just install Tapatalk so you aren't constantly checking the boards and missing out on missions. Unless you're one of those folks still clinging to Windows 8.1, which is honestly just pathetic at this point 😉
