Best gaming laptop under $900?

I suppose I could claim to have some grasp of computer components, but I am looking for actual experts here..
I was searching for a laptop priced up to $2000 that I could pick up here in the States..
I suspect this might be the best option available for that budget...

It has a decent 2GB DDR5 graphics card, 8GB of RAM, and a newer generation processor.. Correct me if I am wrong, I guess.. I should probably look for an SSD since HDDs pretty much suck..

This could be handled much better.

Either step up to a higher-tier laptop entirely, or opt for one with a more powerful GPU—which is the real dealbreaker for gaming. It’s got an IPS screen, sure, but they swapped out the SSD for an HDD... If you can live with that, go for it (it makes significantly more sense in my book). You can always throw an SSD in later.

Could someone provide another example? This seems to be a case of just one outlier in the entire US...
It doesn't necessarily need an SSD, provided it's a total BEAST!
