Hey,
My Dell OptiPlex motherboard finally kicked the bucket. I just spotted some identical replacements listed for sale online, but I have a quick question before I pull the trigger. Would I run into any major headaches if I picked up a Dell OptiPlex instead? Looking at the specs, they seem virtually identical to my old one. A buddy of mine actually uses that specific version, so I’m wondering if it’s a safe bet to go grab it. Just a heads-up, I'm running Windows 7, and I noticed this VSTA model mentions something about Vista in the description. Thanks.

You can take it, just please don't go over 80-$33 for her 🙂

I stumbled onto this thread right after my Dell OptiPlex motherboard kicked the bucket last week. It served me well for a solid decade! Anyway, I found this one listed on eBay link.
The price is $67, but it actually comes with the processor and heatsink included. Did I just get played and overpay?
It’s definitely a gamble, though—I have zero clue if the board even works.

I’ve actually moved three times as many parts for half the price.

If you're a bad seller, 😬

All jokes aside, something is worth whatever someone else is willing to pay for it... that's the only metric that matters.

Maybe you could've shelled out a little more to grab something newer...

Regarding that dead board—if those capacitors are "bulging," you can swap them out for ones with the same specs. It takes some focus and steady hands, but if that's the issue, you can definitely bring the board back to life.
