He’ll do it, but only if he can play it on his PlayStation.

Does anyone actually get what those guys over at Mercedes were even thinking when they pulled that move?
I mean, seriously, was there really nobody on the pit wall who could’ve just done a quick headcount of the tires before they committed to such a ridiculous strategy?😁

Comparing Senna to Vettel just isn't a fair fight. Driving those 80s beasts compared to today's machines is like comparing apples to oranges... From a pure driving standpoint, Senna was a god. Vettel still has a mountain to climb despite his four titles, though. He drove a masterclass today, and it’s clear he’s found his groove at Ferrari—those changes they made are finally paying off.
I can only imagine how much Alonso is hurting right now after moving to McLaren. He might be the most complete driver on the grid today, yet he could end up stuck with just two titles. It's a real shame...

Honestly, though, I think that questionable strategy was actually part of the whole investigation process.

Whatever—not every race is Abu Dhabi 2010.😬

Who botched it?
Was it Petrov or someone else? 🤷
Mercedes actually had a solid strategy—if anything, the SC helped them out...
They would’ve had to pit in a lap or two, maybe five at most...
So there's zero argument about "botched" tactics here. If anything, that SC arrived right on cue.

Are we really going to sit here and try to compare Prost to someone like Hunt?
Hakkinen and... maybe Fangio?
Kid, you just stepped into the ring with Mike Tyson.
...
Oh, wait—never mind, looks like the ref already knocked you out.
Do it for your own good.

Sure, sounds great—except they ended up doing one more pit stop than Sebastian Vettel.

Exactly.
Ferrari's strategy was great too. But let's be real, it wouldn't have even worked if
1) Vettel hadn't pulled off that masterclass defending 2nd place after the start
2) Vettel hadn't built that massive 10-second gap over Hamilton
3) Vettel hadn't brilliantly overtaken Rosberg
4) [Wait] Vettel didn't coincidentally lose his spot to Rosberg after that second pit stop
Get it?
Ferrari's strategy was also killer back in Abu Dhabi 2010. But for Alonso to actually make it work, he needed to
1) Overtake Petrov
2) Overtake Rosberg
He failed at both.
And that’s why Vettel’s a four-time champ today while Alonso’s stuck with two.
That's why Vettel's at Ferrari and Alonso's at McLaren.
That's why Vettel is a hero and Alonso's a clown.
Capiche?

They were stuck either way. To be fair, the SC gave them a window. For some reason, Ferrari is driving like they're possessed, refusing to use their tires—a complete 180 from last season.
Now, whether that's due to the heat or something else remains to be seen. We'll see if they can actually prove it.

And what does that have to do with strategy?
That’s about tire degradation, not strategy...
Sebastian Vettel was actually able to nurse his tires and finish the race with just two stops, whereas the Mercedes crew knew from the jump their drivers couldn't pull that off...
If Mercedes had somehow tried a two-stop strategy, Sebastian Vettel would have left them in the dust by more than 30 seconds.☕
Given how much those tires were wearing out, Mercedes deciding to grab fresh rubber under the SC was a damn good tactical move.😉

They opted for the hard compounds and immediately found themselves stuck in a massive traffic jam, while Vettel, sitting comfortably on his mediums, managed to stretch a 10-second gap. Once they finally broke free, they were forced to chase him down on those hard tires. Look, I'll be the first to admit that Mercedes is faster than Ferrari, but they aren't quite fast enough to claw back that kind of time.
Pitting after the SC was a sound idea in theory, but it ultimately backfired for Mercedes, largely because—as Lewis Hamilton pointed out—they hadn't anticipated such a massive influx of cars heading into the pits at once.
