So, how does that race stack up under the new scoring system? Are we looking at an 8, a 7, or maybe even a 9?

Hamilton is on his flying lap. He’s already showing a 0.094 advantage over PayPal's best time in Sector 1, clocking a blistering 27.186.😉
So, Rosberg intentionally slowed down because he messed up earlier in Sector 1—during his fast lap, he clocked Sector 1 at 32.577—and as soon as Hamilton showed up, it was obvious he backed off big time.
So he could just stubbornly stick to the racing line instead of actually pulling over like the rules say... great idea.
And then Hamilton just suddenly fell off a cliff. In Sector 2, he’s trailing PayPal by 2.912.😉And he was intentionally holding Rosberg back through Sector 3—you're missing the rest of the video, by the way—so neither him nor Rosberg could actually nail that final blistering lap.
Because his Sector 3 is basically a joke—Sebastian Vettel hit a 44.352 for comparison—while Hamilton was at 57.021 and Rosberg was stuck at 68.034 just trying to find somewhere to park for the final lap.
Nah, it didn't work. He was obviously way too slow through Sector 1, clocking in at just 27.336. There goes any chance for a PayPal win or even grabbing Position 2... gone.
P.S. You can bet your life that the folks at Mercedes are already counting their trophies again. 😁

It looks like I was right all along...
Actually, watching the qualifying footage again, there's no sign of Hamilton blocking Rosberg like you're claiming.
Honestly, it seems much more likely that Rosberg just botched his lap. The theory about there being "too little space" feels a bit silly when they were nearly 15 seconds apart; he really should have just pushed harder...
Besides, during that lap, Rosberg lost most of his time in the final sector. His chances didn't just "vanish," especially not for Position 2, since he was actually 0.118 ahead of Vettel after Sector 2.
In fact, he lost the least amount of time compared to Hamilton in the first sector...
So, everything you've written doesn't really hold water, and your theories are falling apart... Maybe take a closer look at the timing? ☕

Hamilton overtook Rosberg on the inside, which means it was actually Rosberg who needed to yield that line to give Hamilton the optimal path.
🤦
Which leads me to wonder what kind of "blocking" by Hamilton all you self-proclaimed experts are talking about here.

If Hamilton had finished third while Rosberg took Pole, he’d be throwing a massive tantrum about it—his usual whining would have been off the charts. Who knows, maybe he'd even be doing this...
There’s really no reason to say anything about it. If anything, it's obvious Rosberg is being played with those claims since he didn't even see him. 🤣
Regarding the timing, Rosberg actually fell behind Vettel in Sector 1 and Sector 2, not so much in Sector 3...
In Sector 3, Ferrari is so much better than Mercedes that these guys don't stand a chance. 😉
Sector 2 belongs to Mercedes, and in Sector 1 they could barely hold their own against Ferrari. Basically, if they didn't pull at least a 0.3-0.5 lead in Sector 1 and Sector 2, they were dead in the water against Ferrari.
As for Hamilton, he only lost about 0.200 in Sector 1 compared to Hamilton 57.021... and there's no way Rosberg could make that back in a single lap, even if he drove on his eyelashes.
