Is this a good gaming build?

Hey everyone, I was wondering if someone could help me put together a full PC build for about $2500? I’m looking for a complete setup—everything included, like the monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers, you name it...
I actually tried putting one together myself, but I'd love to get some feedback on potential changes. Ideally, I'd like to grab everything from a single online retailer (I built this list using the tools over at gov.uk)
Here is what I've got so far:
Motherboard: ASUS ROG Extreme (I was originally eyeing a Gigabyte board, but... well, you know how it goes)
CPU: Intel Core i7-4770K (honestly, I'm not sure if I even need something more powerful than this)
RAM: 8GB (2x4GB) Kingston Fury 1866MHz
GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 3GB (not entirely sure if I should go with this or maybe a GeForce GTX 760)🙂
HDD: Western Digital 1TB 7200 rpm 32 MB cache
PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 750 W (it might be overkill, plus it doesn't have an 80+ certification which worries me a bit)
Case: Zalman Z3 Plus (it looks pretty sharp, and I know the GPU will fit easily)
Monitor: AOC I2369VM, IPS, 23" wide, wled 1920x1080
Keyboard & Mouse: Logitech G Series (standard US layout)
Speakers: Logitech z313

Total: $2500🤣😵

Also, I wanted to ask—does anyone know when the typical sales cycles happen for these kinds of components? Not asking for direct discounts, obviously, but I definitely noticed they were a bit more budget-friendly a few months back. Thanks!

You could save on the board or the RAM—small savings, but still. For that money, you can definitely squeeze in an SSD

Cut costs on the speakers and the keyboard/mouse combo, and you get an SSD. Also, grab an aftermarket cooler for this. And a decent PSU with a 5-year warranty🙂

Don't expect discounts on parts. Around here, prices follow the dollar, and since the dollar strengthened, local prices shot up

Do you think an R9 290 will fit comfortably in here? I’m skipping the SSD for now since it's not a huge deal—this is strictly a gaming rig anyway, and it'll be super easy to slap one in later on.

Looks clean, but honestly? You don't need the 290 for 1080p. With the budget he's working with, he could get everything he needs and still have cash left over for an SSD.😁
