When Lewis was out there on track, he managed to pull it off right as the surface was basically drying out. As soon as he pulled back into the pits, everyone else scrambled out and—bam!—the rain starts pouring again haha. Honestly, that was one of the most ridiculous Practice sessions I've ever seen...

The McLaren-Honda cars look quite solid on this timing sheet. 🙏 Does this imply they've actually made some progress, or are we just seeing two elite drivers performing miracles under difficult track conditions?

The practice was a total disaster... Honestly, you were better off not watching. I was stuck grinding away at work, and there wasn't even five laps of decent running. Just as it looks like the track might finally start drying out, everyone spins off, and then you see the rain starting to hit Turn 5.😁

McLaren-Honda—basically Alonso—was way faster than everyone else...
It’s weird as hell. Either everyone else was just cruising and playing it safe while Alonso was driving like his life depended on it, or Honda actually pulled off a massive upgrade...

Otherwise, under identical conditions, he was faster than Red Bull, Toro Rosso, and Ferrari... and I mean by a noticeable margin, mostly over a full second.
Super strange and totally out of left field. Who knows what actually happened there. 🤔

All those guys who ended up ahead of him later did it on a practically dry track, in much better conditions. 😉

Imagine the sheer chaos if it turns out McLaren-Honda has been sandbagging this whole time, just waiting to pull a classic Brawn move and snatch the championship lead from under everyone's noses. 🙏 🙏It would be absolutely priceless. And wouldn't it be equally priceless to see Button secure yet another title by pulling off the biggest technological upset this sport has ever seen? 🙏🙏

Right before all that went down, Rosberg slammed into a wall, so it’s not out of the question that everyone was playing it super safe. 🤔
So, it actually seems more likely that everyone was just being careful while Alonso pushed it to the absolute limit...

Though, hey, nothing is impossible—not even an ultra-dominant McLaren-Honda...

McLaren clearly went all out, while everyone else played it safe. Honestly, that’s a massive win for them. The key is that they actually showed progress. Maybe, if things align in some crazy way, they could snatch a win or a podium... which would be pretty damn cool enough

Why all the noise after just a standard practice session?🤣

Let's just wait for the race itself, not qualifying, but the actual race... then we'll finally see who was sleeping through the off-season and who actually put in the work.😁

That seems unlikely. Perhaps towards the end of the season, if Honda manages to make significant strides with the power unit development.
