If I recall correctly—and my memory isn't totally shot—that thread was originally kicked off right when Natch stepped down from her moderator gig over at MSNBC (following that whole peasant revolt fiasco). 😬
Even though I’ve spent a massive chunk of my time on these boards hanging out over at MSNBC, I honestly don't have a clue why they restrict users with fewer than 200 posts from posting there. I don't really jump into those threads myself, either. Personally, I'm just not a big fan of those "chat" style threads on forums; I feel like forums aren't really meant for that kind of casual chatter. If you're really dying to get in, though, maybe try asking DD or NT and see if they'll let you in. Just fair warning, though—you'd probably have to buy the whole MSNBC crew a round of beers first. 😁 😁

However, if you have no intention of contributing to the discussion over there, then you really shouldn't concern yourself with why things are the way they are. 🙂

The reality is that we are dealing with several instances of fraudulent registrations, various bot accounts, sudden gender swaps among certain users, and other rather unpleasant trolling activities. Nevertheless, I truly appreciate your interest and the fact that you are reading.
