is closed indefinitely.

The reason is simple: some users on Reddit drifted away from the actual subject matter and started veering off into tangents.

Isn't it more logical to just give people a warning to stay on topic or simply delete the off-topic posts, rather than shutting down the entire discussion? Closing the whole thread feels a bit extreme to me, especially considering how much interest there actually is in this topic.

The topic isn't necessarily dead for good, but what you're saying would be spot on if we hadn't already spent countless hours warning everyone about this exact thing... it’s been shut down before, and I'm sure hundreds of threads have been nuked by mods, yet no matter what we do, within half a day, people are right back at it, obsessing over communism, fascism, and all those other historical debates...

Fair enough, I see the issue here. The key is ensuring the door isn't locked permanently, but rather that you'll reopen the discussion whenever the need actually arises. 👍

It’s been shut down before, and hundreds of warnings have probably been issued, but no matter what we do, within half a day, the conversation just drifts right back to debating communism, fascism, and unnamed events.

I obviously joined this thread a bit late; if you want to restrict a discussion, those parameters need to be clearly defined in the opening post.
Furthermore, he is an associate of several initiatives dedicated to investigating postwar communist crimes, which is part of his political identity.

It shows that lustration is necessary...

So now I'm citing his work in relation to the opening post, and I get two strikes just for quoting the unnamed's work because apparently that's "off-topic"? WTF???

Strictly speaking, complaints about the card decks belong in their own dedicated thread, but let's not get bogged down in technicalities and start moving posts around unnecessarily... you're right about that one post being misplaced, so I'll just request the removal of those cards.

I mean, why not just start a discussion about that unnamed guy's take on the anti-fascist principles in the Constitution if there's actually an interest in that debate? It seems a bit much to just hand out warnings for no reason...

It would be far more efficient to simply launch a dedicated thread—complete with clearly defined community guidelines and specific penalties for those who refuse to follow them—rather than letting this debate bleed across ten different discussions 🤷. This way, at least everything remains centralized in one single location

Is lunch finally over, followed by a nap and a quiet afternoon stroll, or have you simply decided to keep this topic permanently locked just to avoid stirring up any more tension among the Reddit crowd?

The censors are shaking in their boots. Honestly? Good. That kind of fear comes straight from God.
You can try to hold back the tide, but eventually, the dam is going to break.
And this guy? He didn't just break the dam—he absolutely shattered it into a million pieces!

Shutting down an entire discussion thread indefinitely... what is that supposed to be?

Democracy? Freedom of speech?

Your ban was actually due to those "delete, delete" comments, just in case that wasn't clear. As for your daydreaming about the Politics subreddit, I couldn't care less. But since I'm here—and even though that section is handled by a colleague who’s a super-mod over there—I noticed the title doesn't mention anything about being "indefinite." It stays open once we have enough moderators on the sub to handle the sheer volume of posts being churned out. It only closes when there aren't enough people... just like how it used to be.

Look, whether you agree with him or not, the thread regarding the unnamed individual is proving to be an absolute nightmare for the moderation team. In fewer than 4,000 net posts, we’ve already had to step in over 1,000 times—and that isn’t even counting the actual bans. Despite issuing numerous warnings, we simply haven't been able to convince users to stay on topic, refrain from insults, or stop the trolling. Since permanently shutting down such a high-profile discussion isn't an option, and considering our mods can't stay glued to their screens 24/7, we have to face reality: leaving this thread unmonitored inevitably leads to chaos, excessive deletions, and a wave of bans. Consequently, we’ve decided to implement a temporary measure where the thread will be locked from midnight until morning, as well as during daytime hours when no available moderator is online.
I realize many of you won't be happy about this. However, beyond preventing the conversation from spiraling into endless debates about WWII and the roles of various factions back then, we expect to see far fewer reports and deletions. Perhaps during these forced breaks, we can all find a bit of peace and collectively decide to step back from those impulsive, reactionary responses to someone else's post.
That is all for now.

Why did they go ahead and delete my post from that thread about the unnamed guy?

Since you’re already obsessing over counting every little detail, here are a few lines regarding the minister pulled from an article by unnamed.

"The sheer stupidity of this guy from Chicago just breaks my heart."

"A total clown trying way too hard to win over people who actually despise him—people who whisper behind his back about his background..."

"But then again, I find myself feeling nothing but indifference toward such a pathetic figure."

"Just some local guy with those specific religious leanings..."

Well, I suppose that’s just how unnamed writes, with that supposedly "unique style" of his...

Good grief, what an absolute slaughter this thread about that unnamed figure has turned into...

It feels like practically everything I’ve ever posted here has been met with immediate backlash...

Instead of becoming more open-minded over the years, the political climate on this platform seems to be getting increasingly suffocating, closing itself off to any perspective that doesn't perfectly align with the moderators' specific worldview...

The whole site has lost its purpose, honestly, unless the goal is simply to feed the readers one single side of the story while ignoring everything else...

Honestly, what was deleted was meant to be gone, and frankly, it’ll happen again... if you don't quit this up, you're looking at an automatic ban next time regardless of your reputation score. This thread is about the unnamed, and just like the title suggests, opinions on the unnamed and his actions are free for anyone to share, no matter how controversial... If certain users can't be bothered to respect basic site rules or simply lack the capacity to learn them, that isn't our burden to carry.
If you're so obsessed with historical crimes from the communist era, go find a thread actually dedicated to that. Don't hijack a discussion about the Secretary of the Interior and his stance on fascism every ten posts with the same tired trolling. Everyone else is ignoring you while you just parrot the same nonsense over and over... consider this my final word on the matter.

lonebadger6 said:Honestly, it doesn't matter if your post was deleted... because if you keep pushing this, you're going to find yourself facing an automatic ban next time, regardless of how many points you've accumulated on the site. This entire thread is specifically about the unnamed, just as the title suggests... and anyone is perfectly entitled to share their own opinion regarding the unnamed and his various actions, no matter what that opinion might be...

You’re out here deleting quotes from unnamed regarding the unnamed and then claiming that isn't the topic at hand...

How can you even look at yourself after lying like that right here in front of everyone?

It isn't our responsibility if certain users refuse to respect the most fundamental rules of this platform, or perhaps they simply lack the capacity to learn them...

The fact that you clearly have no clue how moderation works, or even what the actual rules are, obviously isn't considered a problem by you...

If you're so interested in discussing communist crimes, please go find a dedicated thread for that... instead of hijacking a discussion about the Secretary of Culture and his views on fascism every ten posts with nothing but trolling. Everyone else is ignoring you, yet you just keep repeating yourself like a parrot, drinking it in and trolling away... and frankly, that's the final word on the matter.

I haven't been on Reddit just yesterday, you know... so I certainly recognize when someone uses accusations of "trolling" as a way to silence people who hold different views...

I could probably find at least ten times as many troll posts that you *didn't* delete, simply because they happen to fit perfectly into the current mob mentality aimed at the Secretary...

This is bottom-of-the-barrel moderation, truly the absolute bottom...

Look at this,

I got an infraction for this post. All I did was show support for a guy doing his job.

I guess if I were dragging him through the mud, I'd be getting an award. Your moderation is absolutely pathetic and totally biased. By the standards you're using right now, these threads only exist to let people vent hate.

Can I please get an explanation for this 30-point penalty?
