Budget Gaming Build @ $1000

Hey there. With Bob just around the corner, I’ve decided it’s finally time for an upgrade. 😁
It’s actually been exactly eight years since I last came on here to ask for help building a rig, and honestly, I don't regret it. A lot of time has passed, obviously, but I think it's time for something fresh.

- This PC is strictly for gaming. I want something high-quality that can handle all the latest titles on high settings.

- My budget is sitting right around $2333

- I need the whole setup—monitor, case, peripherals, the works.

I’m based in New York City, so I'm open to any local shops. Maybe Best Buy? Or you guys just tell me what you recommend.

I'll be paying $1333 in cash and putting the rest on a payment plan.

If you think it makes sense to hold off for a bit because of upcoming hardware releases or tech shifts, I can be patient. I'm fine with waiting.

The case is white, so I'm not sure if that fits your vibe; you could swap it out for THIS, though the Zalman is a higher quality build. Generally speaking, you'll be able to handle most things, though you might have to drop some heavy settings from High to Medium or turn off certain filters, but that's about it. 🙂

I went with some cheaper parts. Financing the rest at 7% interest eats up the budget too fast if I don't keep the upfront cost down.

Thanks a ton. I did some digging and ran the numbers on my end. Let’s try cutting out the speakers, the mouse, and the keyboard, and maybe scale back the hard drive since I really don't need a full 1 TB. If we do that, do you think I could squeeze in a better graphics card or maybe beef up something else instead?

Maybe if you cut the peripherals. But $17 there isn't much of a difference between 500GB and 1TB

I’ve noticed that the Z1 and Z3 Zalman cases have been pretty hard to find lately. However, luck seems to be swinging my way because there’s a whole new lineup of similar mid-range chassis hitting the market that I haven't seen before—specifically the BitFenix Nova, Kolink DeathClaw, Enermax Vostok ADV, Xigmatek Shockwave, Aerocool Aero-500, and the LC POWER 976W/976B models. There are also some older options floating around like the antec gx300 and gx505, the RAIJINTEK Agos, and the NZXT source 220. Of course, they're all scattered across just a handful of retailers here in the States.

It’s honestly no shocker that they sold out instantly—people went absolutely nuts the second they dropped and wiped out the stock. It’s not even a big deal if you can find decent alternatives, though—for instance, saying the NVIDIA RTX 4090 & Claw are basically just a carbon copy of the Corsair Airflow Series inside.
