So, when Maggie gets hit by this weird virus that starts turning her into a cannibalistic zombie—during that whole transformation process—her super loving dad (who happens to be the legendary Arnold, of course!) sticks right by her side, even if it might actually cost him his life.
Have you guys seen this yet? Are you planning to, or maybe just skipping it entirely? If you have watched it, what did you think?
It feels like Arnold is getting closer to the end of his career, and since he’s basically a legend to me, I just can't pass up any chance to see him on screen.
Personally, I thought the movie was pretty decent—maybe a 7/10—though I guess it’s definitely not for everyone.
I should probably mention that there is very, very little action—almost none, really—and Arnold doesn't talk nearly as much as he used to; it honestly feels like the writers didn't quite "use" him enough.
The concept behind the film is excellent, but maybe the execution wasn't quite there, though the acting was pretty solid.
They portray Arnold as a total Alpha Male, and man, that beard in this movie... just 🙏 🙏
Abigail (playing Maggie) also did an amazing job! She had a few rough spots, but hey, I'm not claiming this is some absolute masterpiece or anything.
My final tip: if you need to rewind the ending five times, go ahead and do it! That last scene has way more depth than it seems at first glance.

Has Schwarzenegger ever made anything worse than this? Seriously—it’s so mind-numbing you lose interest after just a few minutes. In my opinion, the IMDb rating actually reflects the quality this time around.

It’s just this pretentious, cheap, slimy, and totally shady way to commercialize Shrek,
honestly, I hate everything about this movie, like, literally every single thing.

The issue with Maggie is fundamentally different: the film is simply tedious. While there are a handful of jarring lines of dialogue scattered throughout, they are far too sparse to carry any weight. Most of the runtime consists of aimless wandering and the repetitive cycling of narrative patterns established in the opening act. Beyond that, the explanation regarding the virus's origins feels nonsensical, and the lack of meaningful government intervention—or even a visible apocalypse, given that one logically necessitates the other—makes it impossible to take this story seriously. As a debut effort, Maggie feels like an experiment attempting to subvert genre tropes, yet it fails to find its footing. It remains entirely possible that a future filmmaker might succeed where Maggie fell short.

Just watched it. Honestly? A total drag—way too slow and felt unfinished. The opening was a complete mess and it just kind of fizzled out at the end. 2/10

I found it to be quite compelling. Arnold truly excelled by stepping out of his usual comfort zone to tackle such an atypical role—a father who remains steadfastly by the side of his terminally ill daughter until the very end. Had her illness been something more conventional, perhaps cancer, the film would have drifted into the territory of a standard family drama; wouldn't that have been somewhat tragicomic with a tough guy like Arnie leading the charge? However, it is precisely this "zombie virus" that injects the necessary sense of dread into the narrative. The way they depict this "creeping" apocalypse—a world unraveling both in the lives of the protagonists and their immediate surroundings—is masterfully done. Even though the trajectory is clear from the start, one can't help but cling to the hope for a different outcome, largely due to the stellar performances from Arnold and his daughter. For me, if I don't find myself genuinely invested in the characters, the movie fails; in this case, I cared deeply about them.
The pacing might feel deliberate to some, given that we aren't seeing endless action sequences of Arnold smashing through hordes of zombies, but if someone actually enjoys TWD—which, in my humble opinion, is a far more tedious and sluggish series than any soap opera you'd find on daytime television—then they will find this plot moves at a fantastic, cinematic clip.
In any event, I’d give it an 8/10.

It was alright, but I felt like there was a lot missing. It honestly feels like they chopped out way too many minutes just to trim the runtime down, but that's just me...
