Thoughts on the 2015 Steve Jobs movie?

Universal Pictures just dropped a teaser trailer for the biographical drama Steve Jobs, which is being helmed by director Danny Boyle and written by Aaron Sorkin.
Back in 2013, there was actually a biopic about this story starring Ashton Kutcher, but honestly, the reviews were pretty rough. Now, we’re getting a remake featuring Michael Fassbender. It focuses on Steve Jobs, one of the founders of that massive tech giant headquartered right here in California.

The cast is pretty stacked: Michael Fassbender, Seth Rogen, Kate Winslet, Jeff Daniels, Katherine Waterston, and Michael Stuhlbarg.

It hits theaters on October 9th.

Solid cast and director here—I’ll definitely be checking this one out. If it manages to capture even half the energy of The Social Network, I’ll be more than happy.

I mean, Michael Fassbender doesn't really look anything like Steve Jobs, so watching him try to pull this off feels a little weird, I guess, but there's no doubt he's going to absolutely crush the role. Plus, you've got Seth Rogen in a supporting part, Danny Boyle directing, and Aaron Sorkin on the script... honestly, I can't wait.

I don't really see Ashton Kutcher pulling off a role this heavy, so I think Michael Fassbender will be a much better fit. Honestly, his career has been on such a massive upward swing lately.
It’s pretty common for actors not to look exactly like the people they're playing, anyway.

Seth Rogen is alright, though I'm not quite sure how he'll mesh with the rest of the group. I am digging the casting so far, especially Jeff Daniels.

The movie with Ashton Kutcher—who, if you ask me, actually crushed the role—was just okay, but I feel like they left out a ton of stuff.

Ashton Kutcher is basically a comedy guy through and through, so I honestly think Michael Fassbender is going to nail this role way better.

This could be absolutely stellar—the cast, the director, and the screenwriter are all top-tier 👍
even if Michael Fassbender doesn't look exactly like him 😬 though at the end of the day, the most important thing is that it turns out to be a great movie

Look, Silicon Valley has been running for almost two seasons now, and let me tell you, it has absolutely nothing to do with Steve Jobs.

It’s honestly such a hilarious comedy series about this group of tech nerds trying to launch a startup, but you've got this one guy with the beard constantly pushing to be the lead when he clearly doesn't have a clue how computers actually work. He’s always dropping references to Steve Jobs, which is pretty funny because he basically acts just like him—except if you look closely, he actually combines the worst traits of both Steve Jobs and Bill Gates. 😁

It's actually a really funny comedy about a bunch of tech geeks trying to launch a startup. That guy with the beard is basically playing the lead, even though he clearly doesn't know a thing about coding. He keeps bringing up Steve Jobs, which makes sense because, honestly, Lucifer has all the worst traits of both Steve Jobs and Bill Gates. 😁

Besides, that director-writer-lead actor combo usually spells big success.
I don't think I've ever seen Michael Fassbender give a bad performance, even in his weaker flicks.

I haven't actually watched that series, but since you mentioned it has a similar vibe to this movie, I just meant they wouldn't really be stepping on each other's toes in that sense.

I mean, I guess I’ve kind of gathered that this whole series is basically just some weird brand of satire or maybe a total parody, so... or am I totally off base here?
