Hmm... I guess you're wondering if she'll work with any standard motherboard? And how much did you end up shelling out for her?

Honestly, if you drop about $73 on a decent PCI slot, you’re basically set for life... I picked up my current one like seven years ago and the damn thing still runs perfectly fine without missing a beat...
It’s wild how the price hasn't even budged after all this time...

Sound Card - Creative Labs Audigy SE, 7.1 Surround, Bulk

-So, you're saying it's any good? I suppose I should wonder if I'll need to pick up extra gear for it—maybe an external amp or something...
Since my motherboard is about 8 years old now, I'm a bit skeptical. :/

Hey everyone.
Just wanted to give you all a quick update regarding the fix...
I'm planning to install a new sound card in my PC today—it’s likely where the issue lies..
If that doesn't do the trick, I guess I might have to send the home theater system in for repairs..
Anyway, thanks for everything. I'll let you know which sound card I ended up going with..

Best,

Yeah, whatever... PCI is such an old-school slot, you should be able to slide that in without any drama... you won't even need to shell out extra cash because you'll get the same outputs as your onboard audio, just with actual 7.1 surround support instead of that crappy basic stuff.
Man, definitely let me know how it goes, I'm dying to find out if the issue is actually your sound card or if your whole home theater setup is just acting up...
