"I have to say—that Frenchman was a formidable opponent. They've given us nothing but trouble all these years, and now they’re finally heading into retirement where they belong. Let them leave with a bit of bitterness—after all, we're the ones who sent them there!"

Look, Šarić going to Qatar? Don't even get me started on the rest of them... It’s a total joke. Honestly, it’s disgusting when money is the only thing driving sports anymore. I mean, sure, that's just how things work today, but if this were happening with national teams, they'd probably ban it outright.

The Spaniards and the French 🙏

Still, for the Spaniards 😵

Listen to Božo—he’s really giving us his take on how those golden handball days in Portugal and Athens look now!

It feels quite distasteful when dealing with a national sport.

Precisely, given this is the first time in history a naturalized player has represented a different national team. 🙄

Or are you suggesting that having two foreign players on a squad is acceptable, yet four becomes excessive?

The Qatari officials were being judged by Americans, then Mexicans, then Mexicans. It seems everyone there is easily swayed by a little incentive 🤣🤣🤣

Retiring on just two bucks and a slice of pie? Yeah, right. 🙂 🤣

I truly believed the Spaniards might actually pull something off in this match. They are a handball powerhouse, quite simply peerless.
This level of play should be implemented from the youth ranks all the way up to the senior national team as a standard defensive formation.

There's really only one team on the planet that can actually take these Frenchmen down..!

I won't speculate on how this ends since things are still looking pretty grim, but those Frenchmen always seem to be lurking somewhere in the background... and their defense remains just as shaky as ever.

It’s honestly just depressing, because once Qatar gets their hands on that gold, sports will have turned into a complete joke... everything has become nothing more than a massive money grab.

Kenneth Clark18 said:The way they play isn't even the main issue here. The real problem is that their entire roster is basically just a collection of foreign imports.

That’s what feels so wrong, especially since we're talking about a national team sport.

I honestly don't get why you're holding such a massive grudge against Qatar? Sadly,
in handball, they aren't the only ones out there buying up talent from other countries.

I actually just went and checked the stats—out of the 17 players, 9 are locals from Qatar, and the rest are
foreigners. I actually thought there were even fewer homegrown players than that!

Anyway, I caught them playing for the first time today, and I gotta say, they
actually held their own against Poland. Sure, the refs made two or three calls that definitely swung
the momentum in their favor, but let's be real: refs tend to lean toward the home team at almost
every single championship out there.

But man, did we see how much of a train wreck that Polish team was!
Even a group of guys just grabbing coffee and donuts couldn't have played better than that.🙂

I’ll be rooting for Qatar. I can’t stand these guys in handball... hope they get robbed by the refs, honestly ☕
