Funny, I’m not going to complain about the ban I received, but rather about the one someone else just got.
Basically,
k-kekec said:LOL... kids...🤣🤣🤣🤣

Mazarin said:regarding the YU-Trovanj situation, you have as many political topics as you want, whether it's about Yu-tarnji or YU-sipović... you didn't just miss the mark, you missed the entire stadium...
besides, if you want politically correct stations like EWT Radio, go listen there and complain. Not a single topic can ever be free from various loafers and barroom patriots....

this is the perfect topic for it because KROQ constantly focuses on the state of the economy—back in the 80s when things were different, they were all about freedom of speech and trashing the administration... now it's the exact same thing, and once again they are forcing us to remember what they used to mock back in the 80s...
but then again, kids like Hitmanović don't get it, because back then his dad was too busy figuring out how to "score" with his mom...

and freedom in this thread means being able to criticize the hosts and their programming... so who's to say who's right or wrong?...
anyway, KROQ is already drowning in mediocrity compared to ALL the other stations in America, and it doesn't lead in anything anymore...

on the KROQ thread, he got a ban for trolling.

Though, I honestly don't see the trolling. His opinion? "LOL kids" and three emojis? What exactly is the problem?

While this post

on the same thread that I've reported twice already—where Cat6 gives me the nickname variola Lozimka and posts some weird image he cobbled together in a pretty twisted, bizarre way—it didn't earn any kind of ban. Huh, northerncrane4? Insulting people and calling them variola Lozimka is perfectly fine!?

on this exact same thread—which I’ve already reported twice—where user Cat6 calls me variola and posts some weird, twisted image he put together himself... it didn't even earn him a ban. Right, northerncrane4? Since when is insulting someone and calling them variola acceptable here!?

Did you actually report that post? Personally, I don't see anything offensive in it—truth be told, I don't even really get it.

And if I'm not mistaken, complaining about other people's bans isn't exactly how this thread is supposed to work.

I’ve reported him twice now, just like the rules say. Is calling someone a variola Lozimka really considered offensive?
Pringles, fine, I'll start a new thread. Even though I've already made my point clear.

northerncrane4, you really think calling someone variola Lozimka is okay? Do you even realize how insulting that is? Do you have any idea what variola actually is—a contagious disease that looks like this (eksplicitkan slika)? You don't need to overthink what Cat6 meant by that comment, because let's be honest: labeling a fellow user after a nasty infectious disease is just disgusting and deserves a ban.

No—you reported him today, specifically as a reaction to the ban of that one user mentioned regarding his dad's "behavior" toward his mom.

Betty Hayes10, you’re a troll on this thread—and you know it, too. You've already been warned about that. It seems I was wrong again—failing to cut trolls down at the root when I should have, just to keep the peace. I'll try not to make that mistake next time.

No, I filed the report on October 24th, the exact same day he sent me that message.

And what exactly am I "trolling" for? Why don't you go ahead and define "troll" and "trolling" for me? Is that what we're calling it now when someone happens to hold an opinion that contradicts yours, Mr. Moderator?
I'm done participating in that thread since you refuse to sanction blatant insults while simultaneously handing out bans for everything else.

Betty Hayes10 said:So I’m a troll? Give me a definition—what exactly constitutes "trolling"? Is it just having an opinion that clashes with a moderator's?

No—it’s when you hijack a thread about WABC Radio to post one comment after another about how certain news groups are totally out of touch with today's youth, claiming they're completely wrong and that you know better—blah, blah, blah, over and over again.

It’s also trolling when you jump into the "appeal of a red card" thread to complain about someone else's penalty—like when a user gets flagged for bringing up someone's parents.

And you didn't even report him on October 24th. It seems highly unlikely that out of the dozens of reports I get daily, yours somehow vanished. You reported a different post those same days.

Moving over from appeals of a red card, ...
northerncrane4 said:No, it’s more like when you go on a thread about an LA radio station and just spam post after post about how certain media groups totally fail to understand what today's youth are actually about, claiming they're completely wrong and out of touch while acting like you know better than everyone else—just endless repetition of the same tired argument.

It's also considered trolling when you jump into the "appeals of a red card" thread just to complain about someone else's penalty, like when a user brings up someone's parents.

And you didn't even report him back on October 24th. It seems highly unlikely to me that out of the dozens of reports I get every single day, yours somehow slipped through the cracks. You reported a different post that same day.

That's exactly what I thought. Because you don't agree with my take, you've decided it's trolling.
I did report him that day. Maybe you missed it, or maybe you just forgot, but I know I didn't.
I flagged it the very second I read the comment, fully expecting the mods to step in.

I'm done talking about this. Enjoy your biased moderation.

Betty Hayes10 said:That's what I thought. You just don't agree with me, so you call it trolling.

You've got it wrong—I actually agree with your take on those bands. What I don't agree with is your absolute certainty that they're wrong and you (and I) are right. It’s also pretty bold to lecture long-time listeners about what this station is or how its programming should work—especially since you admitted you only started tuning in recently. That's pure ignorance; trying to force that ignorance on everyone else? That's trolling.

And I'd ask the admins to check their inboxes for that report you supposedly sent on October 24th—because it certainly isn't in mine.

I honestly love how you're splitting up my posts like this. Even though they were basically the same thing, you made me re-upload from one thread and pull the addition out as its own separate entry, so now it just looks like I've completely lost it and am spamming the same content over and over again.

Your latest comment just proves you can't tell the difference between someone being a troll and someone simply having a different opinion.
By your logic, young people should never have a say in anything because they didn't experience the world before they were born, right? 🤦

I see that post from Cat6 is still sitting there untouched. Are we going to wait another two weeks before you start claiming I didn't even report it?

Betty Hayes10 said:I just love this whole thread-splitting nonsense. Since they were basically identical, you had to re-upload the post from another topic and separate the addition as its own thing—so now it looks like I’ve lost my mind and am just spamming posts back-to-back.

What? 😕

Betty Hayes10 said:Your last comment proves you can't tell the difference between trolling and simply disagreeing.

Well, if I'm not mistaken, kids go to school specifically so they *do* learn what the world was like before them. Being ignorant isn't the same thing as having an opinion.

Betty Hayes10 said:I see that Cat6 post is still sitting there untouched. Do we have to wait another two weeks before you start claiming I didn't report it?

Yeah—just like your endless trolling posts on that thread. Your obsession with an appeal of a red card for that k-kekec post clearly shows you don't even grasp what warrants a ban and what doesn't.
If the admins think that Catov post needs to be banned, they have the authority. Personally, I don't see anything offensive about it.

northerncrane4 didn't have anything to do with moving the posts. The moderator moved everything from the appeal of a red card thread over here so everyone interested in the same topic would be in one place. That's why some entries look repetitive...

Are you actually serious right now? Can you really not see what's happening right in front of your eyes?
Cat6 said:So you’ve finally noticed how incredibly consistent our colleague's arguments have been all along? Is anyone else seriously questioning the whole variola Lozimka situation? 🤣

Now, just imagine if my response to your post looked like this:

Now we’re seeing nothing but blatant bias and terrible moderation. Is northerncrane4 really out here acting like he’s got hepatitis C? 🤣"
Take a look at the link. Unfortunately, I don't have any way to dig up your personal details, like which local associations you follow or actually give a damn about.

If you’re going to issue a red card for this, then fine, but you better be prepared to actually address his comment too. If you aren't, then whatever, it's all good.
So we live in a world where you can get penalized just for mentioning someone's mother, yet calling a person a walking infectious disease doesn't even raise an eyebrow? Is that really how the rules work now?

The analogy is actually different—if I go back and issue an appeal of a red card for this post now, I’ll have to deal with all your previous trolling and off-topic nonsense, too. And frankly, I have zero interest in re-reading all that. 🤷

northerncrane4 said:The whole analogy is kind of off—if I’m gonna go back and issue an appeal of a red card for this post after all this time, I’d basically have to dig up every single one of your old trolling comments and off-topic rants too. And honestly, I really don't feel like re-reading all that junk. 🤷

I mean, northerncrane4, you probably should've just handled it right then and there. Like you said, if you're gonna go back and start handing out penalties for off-topic stuff, it doesn't really make sense to bring it up now (especially since we're talking about off-topic posts anyway).
But look, posts where people are straight-up being abusive can't just slide by without an appeal of a red card. Calling someone variola Lozimka is basically calling them smallpox, if I remember correctly, or something along those lines. And yeah, that definitely counts as being abusive.

From what I can tell, Betty Hayes10 was the one who reported it, but the forum's been acting super glitchy lately with report notifications hitting email. I haven't been getting some of mine either, while others pop up out of nowhere, so I haven't a clue what's going on with the system.
Anyway, bottom line is, I issued the penalty because of the insults.

northernpilot2 said:northerncrane4 should have stepped in immediately—just like you mentioned earlier—and handed out warnings for off-topic posts. There’s really no point in dwelling on it now since it was clearly just off-topic chatter.

I let the admin know I was swamped with work at the time, so...

Betty Hayes10 didn't report the post when it happened. She waited until today—simply because she wasn't happy about a warning being issued to k-kekec for a post where a user's dad is killing the user's mom.

Anyway, whatever. I'm heading off to issue those off-topic warnings now.

Addendum:
Lozimka, I actually banned you too for being insulting, because honestly, you can't just go around labeling everyone in a thread a psycho just because someone was rude to you. There’s an actual report button for that stuff, so if you did use it, fine, but you really should've just waited to see if a moderator stepped in. If nothing happens within 24 hours, I guess you could have sent them a DM, or even reached out to the head admin overseeing that section, but yeah.
Diving back in with a nasty comeback an hour or two after getting insulted? That’s never the move, and trust me, it’ll get you flagged every single time.
