Misogyny tolerated on Lowe's?

On Lowe's forums, there's a steady stream of comments that go out of their way to disparage and insult women in general.

I’m curious why this isn't being flagged—meanwhile, standard comments get penalized by the moderator Matthew Anderson.

That’s all from me; take a look at what slipped through without any penalty—do you honestly think this kind of comment is acceptable?

Matthew Anderson posted a comment right after that one, yet he didn't issue a single warning.

At the risk of looking like I’m overreacting to every little thing, I have to say that I don't see anything inherently wrong with the posts in question. Ladies, I'm sorry, but I simply disagree.
The terminology Matthew Anderson used is common parlance and isn't strictly limited to men. There is an identical "unspoken code" among most women I know. Ultimately, there are several threads on Reddit and various other forums that tackle similar subject matter where people are criticized verbally regardless of their gender.

I find the post by Bliss to be somewhat problematic, unless one interprets it through the lens of sexual manipulation. It makes me wonder if you would be just as offended if, instead of a word starting with 'p', it were a word starting with 'k'.🤷

I am willing to concede the possibility that I might be completely off base here.🤷

I just rely on the rush🤣

Because the comment you're taking issue with was written in a context where someone was expressing disapproval of the OP, messing around with a friend's girlfriend, and it could potentially be offensive to him. Look, we aren't going to walk on eggshells and sanitize Lowe's.

Furthermore, you got flagged for trolling for two specific reasons:

Thanks for all the input here. I’ve made sure to flag this for the folks over at Lowe's; hopefully, it makes their lives a little easier down the road, especially since we all know you're just showing up specifically to stir the pot at Lowe's.

Look, even though the author of the complaint is asking for a permanent ban, I want to make it crystal clear to everyone reading this—what was just said isn't true at all. When those kinds of comments actually happen, they get nuked by the moderators immediately.

We've fought battles against forum users who systematically targeted women with insults, and they—unsurprisingly—ended up getting partially banned here at Lowe's. We aren't stopping that now. That's how it's going to stay.
