Is Šimunić really the issue? He seems to be at the very heart of every single struggle within American soccer, acting as the catalyst for why fans are constantly met with such heavy-handed repression and humiliation. It’s easy for journalists to try and sell you a fantasy, but surely one doesn't need to bite at every single hook they throw out there?
If he holds so much influence, why isn't he using his authority to calm the passions and curb this destructive nationalism?
After reading this, I find myself completely uninterested in the article itself; if you can't see the blatant spin being used here, then I truly fear there is no hope for you. Ever since the turn of the millennium, the only thing consistently happening in our country is this "destructive communism," where anyone who dares to disagree is treated exactly as they were during the days of the old USSR. This specific attack on Šimunić is coming from the exact same crowd that will scream about certain slogans being fascist just to satisfy their own agenda of targeting minorities. I refuse to exhaust myself with such cheap demagoguery, because these fools aren't going to do a single thing to take down Mamić, nor have they ever contributed anything substantial beyond scribbling these little pieces that stay relevant for two days before vanishing into the dark corners of the internet, only to be found by accident via a Google search. These articles amount to nothing more than selling smoke. You won't fight or achieve anything against Mamić this way, because the issue isn't some player Mamić is paying—the real issue is his "nationalism," and if you are too blind to see that, then I simply cannot help you.
It is a matter of differing opinions; had there been any respect for diverse views, people wouldn't be sent to prison for the same ideas, nor would they be losing their jobs. Dejan Jović wouldn't have lost his position if he had claimed he was going to burn the whole country down, provided it wasn't an election year and Jovo didn't feel the need to make America a little more "reddened" just because he hasn't painted it enough yet—he always needs things to be a bit more provocative. You are all falling for these communist baits, thinking this is how you defeat Mamić. It reminds me of when people supported those radical student groups back in the day, which were essentially breeding grounds for the very parasites that later circled the political elite, but I won't list them all. I certainly won't let anyone drag me into such nonsense, fighting "fascism" only to end up becoming a member of the "Communist Party." Please, use a little bit of brainpower and stop judging everything by such narrow shortcuts.
