I'm definitely heading over to Movie Mania—it's a must! Last year was such a whirlwind that I actually missed out on quite a few things I wanted to see... I only managed to catch a couple of screenings, believe it or not!

I really want to focus on this specific part—I just need to check my schedule first to see how I can make everything fit...
I am absolutely loving this year's lineup—honestly, I’d probably see everything except maybe one or two films...

I’d love some recommendations too—you know, things to watch out for or specific details to keep an eye on.
Between work and everything else, there’s just no way I have the cash or the time to catch every single thing.

Mr. Smith gets props. Joe does too. I watched the latter and it’s worth the time. John Wick is a must if you're into action—you won't find better choreographed fights, and the plot isn't total garbage. I have a feeling you might actually dig that Dolan movie. Personally, I find that whole gay-hipster-mommy-issues thing exhausting, but you probably won't mind. 😛

There is some serious potential for greatness in this selection; if I were making my move, these are the ones I’d grab:
  • The Shining
  • In Order of Dissapearance
  • The Congress
  • November 25th: Yukio Mishima and the Youth

I actually think LouReeth is onto something here—just a quick thought from my side! kaže:
Mr. Smith He’s getting all the credit—it's pretty great to see! JoeSame here! I actually sat down to watch the second one recently—definitely worth the time if you're looking for something good. John Wick You've gotta check this out if you're into action movies—honestly, you won't find better choreographed fights anywhere else, and the plot isn't total nonsense either. I have a feeling you might actually dig that Johnson movie, too. Personally, I find all that hipster-gay-mommy-issues stuff a bit much—not my cup of tea—but you'll probably be fine with it! 😛

Haha! 😁
Thanks! I was actually thinking about watching Lee—it looks like a total classic. Not sure about Fiennes, though... maybe not my thing? And while Dolan is alright, I usually prefer checking out some indie directors I haven't heard of yet. Oh, and look at that—Moody’s back in the mix too!
I finally picked up *The Avengers* here on the forum—I actually haven't seen the first one yet! Even though I'm not usually a huge action junkie, it feels like one of those movies that’s just part of the cultural zeitgeist you have to experience at least once. 🤔

The lineup is honestly a letdown. There’s nothing here that actually catches my eye—nothing worth the hype. Maybe I'll eventually get around to 'The Congress' or 'When Night Falls in Bucharest,' but both have been sitting there forever and I haven't even bothered to download them yet. 😁

Honestly, I think programs like this are absolutely killer, mostly because they give high-quality movies a shot at reaching an actual audience—otherwise, without something like IMAX, these films would just get completely overlooked and probably never even get seen.
It’s a real shame we don't see more initiatives like this anymore, and I don't just mean here in Chicago, but in other major US cities too. 🙂
