Why was my thread locked in the soccer sub?

My thread about what we actually learned from this World Cup got locked because apparently it was "stupid."
I don't get what's so dumb about discussing this—especially when the news outlets are all over it—while some other thread about Greek soccer gets a pass? 😕

The topic is actually pretty serious and reflective, plus it had some funny side comments from people here, which was kind of the point. I’m asking the mods to please unlock it, because I actually want to see what else everyone thinks about this tournament. 🙂

If you want more "observations" from the community regarding the World Cup, you can find them—heaven help us—by scrolling through the massive PDF archives from before, during, and after the games.

Look, I'll admit there's a chance my 5:45 AM wake-up call didn't sit well and maybe I'm being a bit too abrasive. If that's the case, I'll leave it to one of the other guys to unlock the thread if they think it's worth it... personally, though, kill me now, I still don't see the point.

The moderator who decided to lock this thread clearly lacks a sense of humor when it comes to banter. It's a shame.
