Alright, I’ve been banging my head against the wall for two months straight trying to fix this. Every single time I hit play on some music or try to do anything that triggers sound, my mic just kicks on by itself... and to make matters worse, the mic doesn't even work. Like, when I plug my headphones in, there's zero audio. It’s driving me absolutely insane 🙂. I've already nuked and reinstalled the drivers at least three times now, but nothing changes. I attached a screenshot of how it looks, so if anyone actually knows their stuff, please help a guy out. Thanks

Alright, here's the deal. Try setting things up so the audio is routing through the green jack, and make sure your default playback device is set to either your speakers or your headphones... (from what I can see in your screenshot, the line in isn't active, meaning nothing is actually plugged in. So, if you haven't already, just plug your speaker or headphone cable into that green line in port on your PC)
I'm honestly not too familiar with this VIA stuff... 🤷 most people are just using Realtek drivers everywhere these days.

Also, what kind of motherboard are you running?

Well, my Mini Cooper speakers are plugged into the green rear jack, and as for the board, I've got an ASRock N68-S UCC, if that helps at all...🙂
